A student got 67% marks. On eliminating the marks of Hindi and English, his % was 76 and on eliminating the marks of Hindi and Maths, his % was 65. What is the least possible marks in Hindi. Total subjects are 5 and total marks of each subject is 100.

According to the given condition
H + M + P + C + E = 335
M + P + C = 228
E + P + C = 195
so H + E = 107
and H + M = 140
so least possible marks in HINDI = 40

A student got 67% marks ( total 335). On eliminating the marks of Hindi and English, his % was 76 ( total 228 in 3 subjects)and on eliminating the marks of Hindi and Maths, his % was 65 ( total 195 in 3 subjects).

so total marks in Hindi + English = 335-228=107
so total marks in Hindi + Maths = 335-195=140

If he got 100 marks in Maths, he should get atleast 40 marks in Hindi.

Total marks = 67*5 = 335
Marks in Hindi and english = 335 - 3*76= 107
Marks in Hindi and Maths = 335-3*65 = 140
It means student got atleast 40 marks in Hindi as he can get max 100 marks in maths.

so option 1....40 marks

For getting 67%,
the sum of marks of all subjects is 335 out of 500

On eliminating the marks of Hindi & English, % was 76% ..so the sum of remaining marks is 228

Similarly,On eliminating the marks of Hindi & Maths, % was 65% ..so the sum of remaining marks is 195

The sum of marks of Hindi+Maths+(English+2 other subjects) must be=335

Hindi+Maths+195=335
Hindi+Maths=140
Maximum marks in each subject is 100

So,assuming student got 100 marks in Maths..then he should have atleast 40 marks in Hindi..

Total 5 subjects 67%, marks = 335
Eliminating Hindi & Maths = 65%
i.e, remaining 3 subjects total = 195
(Hindi + Maths) Marks = 335-195
= 140
Possible least Hindi Mark = 40.

E+M+S+H+SS=67*5
M+S+SS = 76*3
E+H = 107
E+S+SS = 65*3
M+H = 140
M-E = 33

let us take 5 subjects as telugu t hindi henglish e maths m social s
then t+h+m+e+s=67%500=335
t+m+s=76%300=228
t+s+e=65%300=195
from these 3 equations we get
h+m=140
h+e=107
m-e=33
and only h=40 satisfies those equations
