Difference in rate = 36.40-23.60 = Rs 12.80
Brokerage = (23.60+36.40)*0.5/100 = 0.3 rs

Profit = 12.8-0.3= Rs. 12.5

23.60 of 0.5% is 0.118
36.40 of 0.5% is 0.182
sum of brokage (0.118+0.182)=0.3
profit = (s.p-c.p)
=36.40-23.60
=12.8
step 2:
profit - brokage
= 12.8-0.3
=12.5

The brokerage rate is 0.5% for both selling and buying of shares. So we find the corresponding brokerage charges and subtract it from the net profit.,i.e.36.40-23.60=12.8000. And brokerage is 0.3000. Subtracting it we get 12.5000

and 36.40 rs brokerage=18.2paisa
so total brokerage=30paisa
total profit=12.80
net profit=total profit-total brokerage
12.50=12.80-12.30
so ans is 12.50

Purchased rate = 23.60
Tax for purchase = 23.6*.50/100 =.118paise
Sold rate = 36.40
Tax for sold = 36.4 *.50/100 =.182paise
Total rate for purchase = 23.60 + .118 = 23.718rs
Total profit for sold = 36.40 - .182 = 36.218
Net Profit = 36.218 - 23.718 = 12.5Rs

Cost price of share = 23.60
Selling price of share = 36.40
Profit = 12.80
Brokerage = (23.60+36.40)* (50/100)*60
= 30 Paise
Therefore Net profit = 12.80 - .30 = 12.50
