so according to question
R-5 = 2(M-5) ----(i)
R+5 = 3/2(M+5)------(ii)
AFTER SOLING BOTH EQUATIONS WE GET
R = 25 , M = 15
SO R+M = 40

Let current age of Ram & Meera are x & y respectively...
So by question, x-5=2(y-5) and
x+5=1.5(y+5)
Solving above two equations we get x=25 & y=15
Hence, x+y=40...

x-5=2(y-5)
=>x-2y=-5 ------(1)
and
x+5=1.5(y+5)
=>x-1.5y=2.5 ------(2)
solving eqn.(1) and (2),
x=25 and y=15
x+y=25+15=40

Ram's age 5 yrs. before is x-5=2(y-5) eq. x-2y=-5
Ram's age 5 yrs. after is x+5=1.5(y+5)
eq. x-1.5y=2.5 => 10x-15y=25 get rid of decimal make real numbers (a,b,c) integral.
find y. -10x+20y=50 =>multiply eq. by -10
add
-10x+20y=50
10x-15y=25
5y=75
y=15
find x: x=2(15)-5
=30-5
x=25
therefore the sum of their ages is 40.

let Meera current age=y years,
Before 5 years Ram age was double of Meera age
Therefore x-5=2(y-5)
=>x-5=2y-10,
=>x-2y=-5.........(1)
Similarly after 5 years Ram age will be 1.5 times that of Meera age
Therefore
x+5=1.5(y+5)
=>x+5=1.5y+7.5
=>x-1.5y=2.5.........(2)

Solving (1) and (2) we get
x=15,y=25,
Hence Sum of Ram's and Meera's age=15+25=40 ans

so the sum of ages will be.
