Answer 14 hours

in one hour pump fill 1/2 of the tank

it takes 7/3 hours to fill the tank when there is leak . let y be the leak in one hour

then 7/3 * 1/2 - 7/3 * y = 1

7/6 - 7/3 *y = 1

7/3 *y = 1/6

y = 1/6 * 3/7 = 1/14

ie in one hour 1/14 th of tank is empty. therefore it take 14 hours to drain all the water.

work done by pump=1/2-3/7=1/14
so tank will empty in 14 hrs..option D
