If 10 yrs ago, ages were s and f of son and father respectively, then
f=7s
2*(f+12)= 5*(s+12)

solving it, we get
s= 4 yrs
present age of son = 4+10=14 yrs

ans: sons age is 14
sons present age = x
fathers present age = y
x-10 = 7*(y-10)
2*(x+2) = 5*(y+2)
solving these equations we get x = 38
y = 14.

consider,
fathers present age=x
son's present age =y
then 10 years ago ,
fathers age=x-10 & sons age =y-10
from given, x-10 =7(y-10) ........................(1)
& after 2 years
fathers age is x+2 & sons age is y+2
from given , 2(x+2) = 5(y+2) ............................(2)
solving eqn (1) & (2) we get,
y=14
i.e. present age of son is 14 yrs

son's age is 14 years
father's age is 38 years
explanation:::::
let the age of son be x
and father's age be y
now according to 1st statement
7(x-10)=(y-10)....................................(1)
now according to second statement
5(x+2)=2(y+2)...............................(2)
by solving equation (1) and (2),we get
x=14 =son's age
y=38=father's age

verify::
7(14-10)=(38-10)=28....it verifies (1)statement.
5(14+2)=2(38+2)=80....it verifies (2) statement.

Let son's age 10 years ago be x yrs.
thus,father's age be 7x yrs.
2 yrs hence,father's age will be:7x+10+2
son's age will be:x+10+2
7x+12=5(x+12)
x=24
present age of son=24+10=34
