Use (m1×d1)/(w1)= (m2×d2) /(w2) formula. Let total m men are required.Put m1=16, d1=12,w1= 1/4 , d2 =12, w2=3/4. After putting values, we get (16×12)/(1/4)=(m×12)/(3/4) and after solving we get m=48 so total 48 men are required. So additional men will be (48-16)= 32.

As 3/4 of the work is left, which is 3 times the completed work in 12 days
So, in the 12 days, men required=3*existing men=3*16=48

1/4 work done in 12 days require = 16 men.
3/4 work done in 12 days require = (16×3) = 48 - [Option D]

`1/4 : 1 = 16 : 16 + x => 16/(16 + x)`

`= 1/4`

`:. 16 + x = 64 => x = 48`

Use (m1*d1)/ (w1) = (m2*d2)/ (w2) formula.
Put m1 = 16, d1 = 12, w1= 1/4, d2 = 12, w2 = 3/4.
Hence (16*12)/ (1/4) = (m*12)/(3/4) = 48
Additional men required to complete the work = (48 - 16) = 32.
