Considering candidate uses full 2 hrs. or 120 min. of the exam for answering the questions.
If candidate spent 'x' min. on non math question and '2x' min. on maths question, then
(25*2x) +(75*x)=120, x=24/25
So time spent on math question=25*2*24/25=48 min.

Let the time taken to answer each Non Math question be x
Hence time taken to answer each Math question is 2x (given)
So the time taken to answer 75 Non Math question will be 75 * x = 75x
So the time taken to answer 25 Math question will be 25 * 2x = 50x
Entire exam duration is 2hrs = 120 minutes (given)
Hence 75x+50x=120 , -> 125x=120, x=0.96.

Time he spent on the maths questions = 50x = 50 * 0.96 = 48 minutes ( Answer )

the ratio of math to non math questions is
1 : 3
If time taken to solve nonmath is x, math =>2x
then the ratio becomes
2 : 3
then time spent for math question is
(2/3) * 120 = 80 min =1hr 20 min

It takes 48 minutes for solving those 25 maths question.
Because,
let 'x' be the time taken for solving one nonmath qn,
then, '75x' will be the time taken for solving 75 nonmath qns.
then, '(25*2x)' will be the time taken for solving those 25 math qns, as it takes twice the time he spends to answer a nonmath qn.
50x + 75x = 120(min)
125x = 120
x = 120/125

x = 0.96(min)
If this '0.96 minutes' is converted into seconds then it equals to
'57.6 seconds'.
For each maths qn we have to spend
'57.6 second' then for 25 questions, it is
25 * (2*57.6) = 2880(seconds). (as mentioned above '25*2x' )
2880 seconds = 48 minutes.

total duration=2hrs=120 mins
total duration=(x+2x)
3x=120 ->x=120/3
x=40 mins
time spent on math qns=2x=2*40=80mins

25-maths : 75 non maths

for each maths question he will take twice the time as solving non-maths question so

25*2 : 75
50 : 75
= 2 : 3
thus the time taken for solving 2 maths question is equal to time taken to solve 3 non maths question(for the given senario)
total time =120 mins

for 2:3 ratio

2*120/5=48 mins(for maths question)
3*120/5=72 mins(for solving non maths question)

Let time taken for each nonmath question b = x minutes
Time taken for each math question = 2x minutes
Hence, 75x + 50x = 120 minutes
x = 120/125 = 24/25 minutes
Since each math question takes 2x (=48/25) and there are 25 math questions in all, the answer is 48/25*25 = 48 minutes

let 25 maths question is solved in 2x time,
so non maths 25 question be solved in x time....so 75(25x3) question is in 3x time
total time=2x+3x=120 min
x=24
so he spent 2x ie 2x24=48 min on maths paper and 3x ie 3x24=72 min on non maths paper.

let, time taken for nonmath qns=x;
and time taken for math qns is TWICE the time taken for nonmath (i.e) 2x
therefore,(75*x)+(25*2x) =120
=> (75+50)x=120
=>125x=120
=>X=24/25
=>therefore time spent for math qns is 25*2*x=25*2*(24/25)=48 min=0.8 hrs

Let Time be T for Non Math Que and 2T for Math Question . Therefore total time was (25*2T) + 75*T
125T = 120
T=24/25...... time spent on math question was 2T therefore time spent for 1 maths question was 2*24/25 mins = 1.96 mins. for 25 MATH QUESTION 25*1.96= 48 mins

Total no of math=25
Total hrs = 2hr= 120mins

Time taken to complete 1qus = x
(75*x)+(25*2x)=120
75x+50x=120
x=0.96

Therefore , time taken for 75 qus =75*0.96 =72mins and
time taken for 25qus =25*2(0.96)= 48 mins

then total time=2hrs=7200 ssec
therefore
75t+25*2t=7200
125t=7200
t=57.6sec=1.92 min for one question

i consider 2 hr as 120 mins. x be the time taken for solving non math qusn. which is the double time of answering the math qusn. so my eqaution is 75x+25(2x)=120.now solve the equation. i got x=.96 and for answering 25 qusn it was 50*.96=48

25 math questions=5o non math question
hence total ques=125 non math ques
if 125 non math ques take 2 hour,then
1 non math take 2/125 hour=0.016hour
hence 50 non math(25 math) take 0.016*50
answer is 0.8 hours

25(2X)+75(x)=7200 sec
50X+75X=7200
125X=7200
x=7200/125
x=57.6 sec

75(57.6)=4320 sec= 72 min = 1 hr 12 min
25(2(57.6))=2880 sec= 48 min

total timeperiod 120 mins
in that each question have 1.2mins to solve after that the question have double in non maths of 75
so 75*1.2=90 mins
remaining we have only 30 mins to solve maths question
so ans is 30 mins in 25 math questions

Let 2x = number of minutes spent on each math question

75( x) + 25(2x) = 120
75x + 50x = 120
125x = 120
x = 0.96

50(2(0.96)) = 50(1.92) = 96
