the original price of a car was rs 23600. Because the car owner thought he could get more money for the car; he increased the price of the car to 160% of its original price . After a week the car had not sold so the owner then discounted the price by 20% the car was finally sold what price was the car sold for ?

cost after increament=(23600*160)/100=37,760
after discounting 20=37,760-7,552=30,208
so rthe car was sold for rs 30,208

Ans is Rs. 49088
original price=Rs. 23600
price after increasing it by 160% = (160/100)*23600 + 23600=Rs. 61360
after 20% discount= 61360 - (20/100)*61360=Rs.49088

cost price=23600
increased 160%=(23600*160/100)=37760
eventually he decided to reduce 20%
so (37760*20/100)=7552
he sold the car for (37760-7552)=30208
ans is Rs.30,208

original price i.e cost price=23600
after incresing = 2.6*23600=61360
after dscount= 49088
So, he finally sold the car for 49088 rs

Selling price=Price with 160% increase- 20% discount in price
=(23600*160/100)-[(23600*160/100)(20/100)]=37760-7552= 30208

Ans : 30,208
since in first section of question it is given he increased price TO 160% of original price hence , (160/100)*23600 = 37,760
again it discounted BY 20% hence (80/100)*37760 = 30,208

final amount=37760-7552=30208, ans.

Original Price: 23600

160% of 23600 => 23600*160/100 = 37760

Therefore, Total Price = 61360

20% of 61360 is 12272, which is discounted by the customer.

So, 61360-12272 = 49088 is the Answer.

increased price = 160% of 23600
= 37760
discount = 20% of 37760
= 7552
so final price = 37760 - 7552
=30208

Dear All,
too many have submitted their solutions for this question with answer either '49088' or '30208'.
There is little confusion in the question with increased price and it is given " increased the price of the car to 160% of its original price "
It should be (price*160/100)
If the "increased the price of the car by 160% of its original price " then
it would be [price+(price*160/100)]

let us assume car price be 100 he price 160 rs and given discount 20 percent
finally he sold for 128 rs.now come to point
100 rs car he sold for 128
so 23600 car he sold how much?
answer=128*23600/100
=30208

It was given that the original price of a car increased by 160%
hence it should be 61360 i.e ., (160/100)*23600 + 23600=Rs. 61360
and then it is discounted by 20% i.e, 61360 - (20/100)*61360=Rs.49088
Hence A is the answer

Selling price= (80/100)*(260/100)*23600= Rs. 49088

(((23600*260)/100)*80)/100=49088
logic intial 100 rs...is increased to 260 rs that means 160% was increased this is given in question.......I think It will be helpful if any query about this then ask me
