600 for 24 cups of tea...
i.e minimum price of a tea cup= rs. 25 (it can't be less than that)
1000 for 15 cups of coffee...
i.e maximum cost of a coffee cup=1000/15=66.67
minimum cost of a coffee cup to get maximum 15 cups in rs.1000=63
63*15=945 (in remaining 55 rupees u can't buy another cup of coffee)
similarly, after buying 8 cups of tea remaining amount= 2000-(25*8)=2000
so, no of coffee cups=2000/63=31.74
so, we can buy maximum 31 cups of coffee.

he can buy 8 cup of tea using 200 money.
left money =2000 ,in rs.1000 he can buy 15 cup of coffee.
so he can buy 30 cup of coffee (no ans in option as 30)so at max he can buy 31 cup of coffee.

1 cup of tea costs Rs.25
1000/15 = 66.67
1 cup of coffee costs Rs.66.67
8 cups of tea costs 8*25 = 200
Amount left = 2200-200 = 2000
No. of coffee cups purchase can be 2000/(1000/15) = 30
According to options, max. 27 cups of coffee can be purchased...
Ans : 27

2200-200=2000
so Rs.2000=30 coffee cup
but as per option ans. is d=27 max. no of cup he got.

**** for maximum cup of cofee the minimum cost should be considered**

To calculate minimum cost
Given (For Rs. 600 Mr. Karan can buy a maximum of 24 cups of tea)
assume that Rs. 601 requred to buy 25 cup tea....
Cost of 1 cup tea=601/25=24.04

similerly
Given (for Rs 1000 he can buy a maximum of 15cups of Coffee)
assume that Rs. 1001 requred to buy 16 cup Coffee....
Cost of 1 cup Coffee=1001/16=62.56

now Cost Of 8 cups of tea= 8*24.04=192.32
remaining money =2200-192.32=2007.68

so, no of coffee cups=2007.68/62.56=32.092
so maximum 32 cum cofee can be purchased by remaining money

for maximum of 24 cup of tea in 600 minimum cost of 1 tea must be= 25 rs. (as no of cup of tea will be greater then 24 if we take price of one tea less then 25 rs).
for maximum of 15 cup of coffee in 1000 minimum cost of 1 coffee can be= 63 rs (as 63*15=945 & you can't buy one more coffee in rs 55)
So, after buying 8 cup of tea ie., 25*8=200 we have 2200-200=2000 rs
we can buy maximum of 2000/63= 31 cups of coffee in it. hence, ans is C> 31

For Rs. 600 Mr. Karan can buy a maximum of 24 cups of tea (some money may be left)

Therefore for 8 cups of tea he requires a maximum Rs 200 (Even less then 200)

For remaining 2000(or more) he can buy atleast 30 cups of coffee and may be an extra

cup of coffee with the left money.

So, the answer can be 31.

Hi guys the answer is 30 everyone can find out but the questioner has made complicated in this option...the answer is 27 because with that money you can buy only 30 cups you cant buy more because you cant beg the shopkeeper to giv extra cup with that money but you can buy less what you have...hope you all understood

I my opinion cost of 1 cup of tea is 25 Rs
so Mr.karan has got Rs 2200 he buys 8 cups in that and
the cost of 8 cups of tea is Rs 200
and the remaining rs 2000
and so the cost of 15 cups of coffee=1000 Rs
and so the cost of 30 cups is Rs 2000
and by adding the total no of cups(coffee+tea)=39 cups
and lets subtract the total no of cups-cups of tea=31
so the answer is 30 which is near to 31

answer will be (B) 32
for rs 600 he can buy max of 24 cup of tea means he was not able to buy 25 cup of tea.
hence the price of cup of tea lies b/w {24,25}

similarly for cup of coffee :price of cup of coffee lies b/w {125/2 , 200/3}

now for 8 cup of tea he must have spent b/w (192,200) (8*24,8*25)
the remaining amount will be b/w (2000,2008)

since we are talking about the max no of cup of coffee that he can buy hence we will deal with min price of these two item . max amount that he has right now is (2008-@) and min price of cup of coffee is (62.5+@) where @ = infinitesimal

so he can buy 32 cup of coffee (2008/62.5>32)

if we would talk about the min no of cup of coffee that he could buy the answer will be undoubtedly 30.

he has 2200/-
for 8cups of tea it costs 200 rs
so he has 2000/- left.

max price of 1 coffee = 1000/15=66.67
so with 2000/- we can get about 29.998 = 30

so ans according to option is 27 since the value cannot go above 30.
so D
