if u see the question and noticed then u'll easily get the value of A(i.e A=1) check it " RED * A = RED " it is possible when A=1,
nxt check D*S=S then there are two possibilities,(i)if S=5 then D={3,7 & 9}, or
(ii)if D=6 then S={2,4 & 8}
now chek with the first condition S=5 put hte value of D=7 check it.
now check what are the no. which is multiplied with 5 and gives the value between 10-19.there are two no. i.e 2 & 3 remember these two no. will assign to R.( R E 7 * 5 = 1 R C 5 ) take R=2 if u put R=3 then check the column A+R=C i.e "1+2=3" from here u'll get the value of C=3.
now check RED*S=ARCS(i.e 2 E 7 * 5 = 1 2 3 5 ) from this multiplication u'll get the value of E=4(1235/5 = 247)
now put the value of E=4 and remaining u'll get it.. remaining value T=0.

i dont kno how 2 solve. speed is not given

Ans: 12hrs.
Upstream: total speed = 5(man + velocity of the stream)
Downstream: speed = 1(man - velocity of the stream)
travel time for Upstream: 10/5=2
travel time for Downstream: 10/1=10
Total time =2+10=12.
