(#M40002472) TCS QUESTION Keep an EYE Keep an eye puzzle Keep an eye puzzle

There is a toy train that can make 10 musical sounds. It makes 2 musical sounds after being
defective. What is the probability that me musical sound would be produced 5 times
consecutively? (1 of__)?

Solution
only two different tunes are there, so for making 5 consecutive music tunes of the same type, probability = (1/2)(1/2)(1/2)(1/2)(1/2)*2 = 1/16
last 2 is because of the two case (1) first tune all 5 times (2) second tune all 5 times
but here the question is based on odds, so answer should be (1/16)/[(1-(1/16)] = 1/15

Maths Quotes

Language is remarkable, except under the extreme constraints of mathematics and logic, it never can talk only about what it's supposed to talk about but is always spreading around.

Raju Sharma

Creative mathematicians now, as in the past, are inspired by the art of mathematics rather than by any prospect of ultimate usefulness.
