(#M40001202) TCS QUESTION Keep an EYE Keep an eye puzzle Keep an eye puzzle

There is a toy train that can make 10 musical sounds. It makes 2 musical sounds after being defective. What is the probability that same musical sound would be produced 5 times consecutively? ( 1 of _____) ?

Solution
only two different tunes are there, so for making 5 consecutive music tunes of the same type, probability = (1/2)(1/2)(1/2)(1/2)(1/2)*2 = 1/16
last 2 is because of the two case (1) first tune all 5 times (2) second tune all 5 times
but here the question is based on odds, so answer should be (1/16)/[(1-(1/16)] = 1/15
