If the perimeter of first triangle is 10 unit less than the double of perimeter of second triangle and the total perimeter of two triangles is 50 cm. Ratio of two corresponding side of triangles will be.... (Given Triangles are similar)

Solution

Given condition
x=2y-10 (where x and y are the perimeter of triangles respectively)
x+y=50
therefore x=30, y=20
first triangle (side)/second triangle(side)=x/y
=30/20 = 3/2 = 3:2

Perimeter of triangles are 30 cms and 20 cms.

As triangles are similar, ratio of corresponding sides will be same as that of perimeter.
so ratio of sides = 30:20 or 3:2.

equ1:x1+y1+z1=2(a+b+c)-10
equ2:x2+y2+z2=a+b+c
by solving equ1 and equi2 we get a+b+c=20
so perimeter of first triangle becomes 30 and the second is 20
so ratio of coprresponding sides of ths triangle is 3:2

here (p1)+10=2*(p2)
and p1+p2=50
solving we get p1=30 and p2=20
so from rule of similarity of triangle

first one is having x cm each side and the second one is having y cm on each side.
so ,
3x=2*3y-10...(1)
and,3x+3y=50...(2)

so, equalting these two eqs. we get,
y=20/3.
and x =10.
so x:y=3:2

let perimeter of first tr'gl=A,and of 2nd=B
2B-10=A and A+B=50
Solving, we get B=20 and A=30
as triangles are similar,the correspondng sides are proportional,
if a,b,c and x,y,z be the sides of first and second triangles,a+b+c=30,x+y+z=20.
a:x=b:y=c:z
by addendo we get
as each ratio=(a+b+c):(x+y+z)=30:20=3:2

perimeter of second triangle = p
perimeter of second triangle = 2p - 10

=> Total perimeter = 3p - 10 = 50
=> p = 20

=> second triangle perimeter = 20
=> first triangle perimeter = 30

If P1 is the perimeter of 1st triangle and
P2 is the perimeter of 2nd triangle
then P1=2P2-10 or P1-2P2=-10 ---(i)
Also P1+P2=50 ---(ii)
Solving (i) & (ii) we get, P1=30 and P2=20
So ratio of corresponding side of triangle =P1/P2=30/20=3/2

for 1st triangle take side a for second take b,now now given information 1st equation can be formed as 3a=6b-10 and second equation will be3a+3b=50 by solving them you will get a=10 and b=20/3 so ratio is 3:2
