A man pays for 4 purchased items according to the conditions given below:
No. Items, Price Including Vat
1. T.V. - Rs.20000 (Vat%, 4)
2. Mobile - Rs.24000 (Vat%, 8)
3. Drugs - Rs.6000 (Vat%, 12)
4. Stationary - Rs.15000 (Vat%, 0)

Calculate the total marketed cost of all the articles purchased by man. (Answer in approx)

Solution

Marketed cost of first item is 20000*100/104 = 19230.76
Marketed cost of second item is 24000*100/108 = 22222.22
Marketed cost of third item is 6000*100/112 = 5357.14
Marketed cost of fourth item is 15000*100/100 = 15000

On adding these numbers, we get solution. Total = 61810.12
option 6) 61810

104% = 20,000 100% = 20,000*(100/104) = 19,231
similarly for other things
for mobile = 24000*(100/108) = 22222
for drugs = 6000*(100/112) = 5357
for stationary = 15000
adding all these we get 61810

as given in que. price including vat are given....
so to calculate marketed price we have to subtract the vat amt. with its origrnal price.
t.v=> 20,000-(4*20000/100)=19200
mobile=>24000-(8*24000/100)=22080
drgs=>6000-(12*6000/100)=5280
Stationary=>15000
net result=>19200+22080+5280+15000=61560
so approx. ans=> option 6

From marketed cost concept marketed cost is excluding VAT

Marketed cost for T.V is (20000-20000*4%)=19200
Marketed cost for mobile is (24000-24000*8%)=22080
Marketed cost for drugs is(6000-6000*12%)=5280
Marketed cost for Stationary is(15000-0)=15000
So,total marketed cost is(19200+22080+5280+15000)
=61560
=61810(approx.)

For T.V his expenditure was 20000/ where 4% VAT is included.
So The market price of T.V is (20000-20000*4%)
=19200/
For Mobile his expenditure was 24000 which 8% VAT is included.
So the market price of Mobile is (24000-24000*8%)
=22080/
Similiarly for Drugs--(6000-6000*12%)=5280
ANd No vat for Stationary there is no vat.
So the total Marketed cost is (19200+22080+5280+15000)=61560/-
So approx. 61810 hence option 6 is correct

Marketted price = Price excluding the vat.
So we have to substract the vat from the given above price...

After substracting,
TV = Rs 19200
Mobile = Rs 22080
Drugs = Rs 5280
Stationary = Rs 15000


Adding these prices we get Rs 61560.

let item marked price in every case is x
for 1st item:
((4/100)*x)+x=20000
=> x=19230.77

for 2nd item:
((8/100)*x)+x=24000
=> x=22222.22

for 3rd item:
((12/100)*x)+x=6000
=> x=5357.14

for 4th item:
((0/100)*x)+x=15000
=> x=15000

total marked price=19230.77+22222.22+5357.14+15000
=61810.13

Price after tax Divided by vat%/100+1 = Price before tax (Net price)
for tv
20000/1.04=19230.769
for mobile
24000/1.08=22222.222
for drugs
6000/1.12=5357.1429
for stationary
15000/1=15000
so the total marketed cost of all the articles purchased by man 19230.769+22222.222+5357.1429+15000=61810.134
ans is 61810

We know,
Marketed Cost=Printed Price(including VAT)-(VAT%)
So,
Marketed Cost of T.V=20000-(4% VAT)
=(20000*100)/(100+4)
=19230.769
Marketed Cost of Mobile=24000-(8% VAT)
=(24000*100)/(100+8)
=22222.222
Marketed Cost of Drugs=6000-(12% VAT)
=(6000*100)/(100+12)
=5357.142
Marketed Cost of Stationary=15000-(0% VAT)
=15000
Therefore,Total Marketed Cost=
(19230.76+22222.22+5357.14+15000.00)=61810.13
Hence option 6 is right.

Mobile MP=24000-0.08*24000=22080
Drugs MP=6000-0.12*6000=5280
STATIONARY MP=15000-0=15000
