Discount provided by the first shopkeeper :
10% of 1000 = 100 --> 1000 - 100 = 900
10% of 900 = 90 --> 900 - 90 = 810
10% of 810 = 81 --> 810 - 81 = 729

Discount provided by Others :
30% of 1000 = 300 --> 1000 - 300 = 700

So, the difference is

729 - 700 =29

in first case cost is 1000 *(100/110) *(100/110) *(100/110) = 729
or
1000* 0.9 =900
900 * 0.9 =810
810 * 0.9 =729

....
