Solution

[{(?/3)-33}*3.5*(5/7)*(3/2)*(1/2)*1.2]-225=0 => ?=399
Note that number is increased by 250 % means the number will become 100% +250% = 350% of the original number for this we should multiply the number to 3.5. Similarly number is increased to 120 % means the number will become 120% of the original number for this we should multiply the number to 1.2

Let the number is x.
Thus, according to question, (1/3*x-33)*(1+2.5)=y.
Now, 1/2(5/7*y*3/2)*1.2
Substitute the value of y in above equation-
1/2(5/7*((1/3*x-33)*(1+2.5))*3/2)*1.2=225
on solving, x= 399

1.2*1/2*3/2*5/7*3.5(x/3-33)=225
so x=399
when increased 'by' 250% a number , the multiplying factor will be 3.5 but when number is increased 'to' 120% it will be 1.2, only this two are the considerations of this question.. rest is simple equation .

(((x/3-33)+((x/3-33)250)/100)*(5/7)*(3/2))/2)*120/100-225=0
solve for x then we get x =399

so equation is (x/3-33)*(350/100)*(5/7)*(3/2)*(1/2)*(120*100)-225=0
solving this equation we will get number is 399.
note:: 1st increment is by 250% means to 350%,but next increment is by 20% means to 120%.

Solving this,
