A can fill in 4 hrs . so its efficiency is 1/4;
for B it is 1/6 as it fills in 6 hrs, and
for C efficiency is 1/8, as it can empty in 8 hrs,

so if all three tapes are open then in 1 hr the cistern will be filled (1/4+1/6-1/8)=7/24
so the CISTERN will be filled in 24/7 hrs= 3 hrs and 25.71428 minutes.=3 hrs and 26 minutes
