600 banana's are bought for Rs. 720 and sold at the rate of Rs. 15 per dozen. The percentage of profit or loss is:

Solution

Cost of 1 banana = 720/60 = 1.2
Selling price of 1 banana = 15/12 = Rs. 1.25

As SP > CP so its profit
So Profit % = (1.25 - 1.2)*100/1.2 = 4.16%

C.P of 50 Dozens =₹720
S.P of 50 Dozens =₹ 15*50=₹750
Profit =₹30
%of Profit =30*100/720=100/24
=25/6=4.16% approx.
Hence the right option is 2.

CP of 1 dozen banana= 720/50= Rs 14.4
Profit per dozen= 15-14.4= 0.6 Rs
% profit = 100*0.6/14.4 = 60/14.4= 4.16 %

similarly, 1 banana sold for= 15÷12 = 5/4
now, profit% =( 6/5 - 5/4)*100/(5/4)
=4.16% profit

%profit = (sp - cp)*100/cp

= (750-720)*100/720
