A is 11 years older than B who is three times as old as C. The total of the ages of A, B and C is 123 years. What is the value when the age of B is added to the difference between ages of A and C ?

Solution

Let’s assume Age of B be B years
Age of A = B+11
Age of C = B/3

Total age = B + 11 + B + B/3 = 123
Solving 7B/3 = 112
B = 48
A = B+11 = 59
C = 48/3 = 16


Difference between ages of A and C = (59-16) = 43

Final Value = Age of B + Diff of Age of A and C = 48 + 43 = 91

Difference of ages of A and C =2c+11
Required value=5c+11=91

suppose, age of C= x, B=3x, C=3x+11,
as per given total =123,
x+3x+3x+11=123;
x=16

Age of B= 48, C= 16, A= 59

Ans= 48+(59-16)= 91 . option 7

Then,B's age=3X years
and A's age=(3X+11) years
Then,sum of all ages=123 years
+>X+3X+(3X+11)=123
+>7X=112

Then C's age=16 years
B's age=(3x16) years
=48 years
A's age=(48+11) years
=59 years
Difference of A's age and C's age=(59-16) years
=43 years
When B's age is added to difference,
the value =(43+48)years
=91 years
