Solution

Let length = x and breadth = y then

2(x+y) = 48 => x+y = 24
x²+y² = 18² = 324
now (x+y)² = 24²
=> x²+y²+2xy= 576
=> 324+ 2xy = 576
=> xy = 126

Area = xy = 126 sq.cm
