The average weight of 45 students is 53 kgs . It was found later that the figure of 38kg was misprinted as 83kg for one of the students.
What is the correct average.

Solution

Total difference in sum of weight of 45 students = 38-83= 45 kg
so difference in average weight of 45 students = 45/45= 1 kg
