Let, Two taps are A and B

A can be filled in 1 hour = 1/4 tank
B can be filled in 1 hour= 1/5 tank
Therefore, both taps can be filled in 1 hour = (1/4)+(1/5)
= (4+5)/20
=9/20
So, the tank can be filled= 20/9 hours
= 2 hours 13 minutes
Hence, My option is (3)

Fill per hour = (1/4+1/5) = 0.45
To fill 1 full it takes 1/0.45 = 9/20
So it needs 20/9 hours = 2 hours + 2/9 hours
Equivalent to 2 hours 13 minute

In 1 hour, part of the tank filled=1/4 + 1/5=9/20

let tap A and tap B re two tap
tap A fill the tank in 4 hour and tap B FILL THE TANK IN 5 HOURS
if both tap opened then tank in 1 hours =1/4+1/5=9/20
tank full in 20/9 hour
=2 hours and 13 min

Tap 1 one hour work=1/4
Tap 2 one hour work=1/5
Tap 1 and Tap 2 together one hour work=1/4 + 1/5= 9/20

Tap1 and Tap 2 can together fill the tank in 20/9 hrs i.e. 2 hr 13 min.
