The sum of a positive number and its reciprocal number (for example x and 1/x) is (2n+1)/6 where n is any integer ranging from 1 to 6. Then the number x will be (out of the 10 options given)
x + (1/x) = (x^2+1)/x
and we know that x^2+1>2x
so (x^2+1)/x>2
if we take n = 1,2,3,4,5,6 in (2n+1)/6 then for only 6, it will be greater than 2
so definitely n=6
so eq. will become x+(1/x)=13/6
by solving this eq. we will get x = 3/2 and 2/3
but 2/3 is not in the options so answer will be 3/2 out of the 10 given answers
