i think your question is mistaken below is the correct one i guess.
3,7,10,8,4,12,0,5,5,3,2,???
ans: 5
reason:(Divide 3 elements in one group ie 3+7=10,8+4=12,...)

just go through series problems from previous question papers,,,
prepare on aptotude topics like time&distance,time&work,ratios,ages,profit&loss

Series can be break in to 3 series-
3,4,5,6
2,5,1,3
1,4,0,
if we observe 2nd and 3rd series...they are alike....as their common differences is 3,-4,2....
so next term is 0+2 = 2
