f(f(f(x)))=f(f(ax+b))
=f(a(ax+b)+b)
=a(a(ax+b)+b)+b
=a(a^2x+ab+b)+b
=a^3x+a^2b+ab+b = 6x+8
compare coefficient of x and constant term.
this will give the values of a and b.
for sure, a and b will not have integral values.

f(f(x))=f(ax+b)=a(ax+b)+b
f(f(f(x)))=f(a(ax+b)+b)=a(a(ax+b)+b)+b=a^3x+a^2b+ab+b=(6X+8)
therefore a^3=6 ......a=1.817
constant part
b(a^2+a+1)=8...............substituing a
we get b as
1.308
a+b=(1.817+1.308)=3.125
