6 mice we need. let first assign each can a unique no from 1 to 45.
now for representing 45 in binary we need 6 digit . so let take 6 mice nd assign 1 digit to each mice now taste from can to mice in binary sequence,i.e if suppose 16 no can contain poison then there corresponding, mice will be dead so we can find it easily..

this processs is going on up to single can we require 6 mouses

If f(1)=4 and f(x+y)=f(x)+f(y)+7xy+4,then f(2)+f(5)=?
Reply Like? Yes (1) | No
rohit kumar   12 years ago
ans is 125
f(1+1)=f(1)+f(1)+7*1*1+4=4+4+7*1*1+4=19=f(2)
f(2+2)=f(2)+f(2)+7*2*2+4=19+19+28+4=70=f(4)
f(5)=f(1+4)=f(1)+f(4)+7*1*4+4=4+70+7*1*4+4=106
f(2)+f(5)=125

One day Eesha started 30 min late from home and reached her office 50 min late while driving 25% slower than her usual speed. How much time in min does eesha usually take to reach her office from home?
Reply Like? Yes (1) | No
Abhilash Mishra   12 years ago
60 min or 1 hr.

as,
let her usual speed be 's' and time be 't'.
then, on the day, her speed is = .75*s
and time is = t + (20/60) hr
so,
s*t = .75 s * (t+1/3)
implies t = 1 hr.

let her usual speed x and time taken for it is y
now his speed is x-(x/4)=3x/4 and time taken for it is y+20
:. x/(3x/4) = y+20/y
thrfr y =60 min

she usually takes 60 min to reach her office.
In actual Esha reached her office 20 min late due to her slow speed because she already left home 30 min late that day.
50-30=20
let her usual speed is x and her usual time taken to reach office is y.then on that very day her speed reduces by 25% i.e, her speed is 3x/4 and she takes (y+20)min
so, we get y=60 min.

Let y be the distance from home to office
Let x be the usual time taken
Let u be the usual speed
therefore new speed= u-u/4=3u/4
u=y/x.......eq1
new time x'=x+20
so 3u/4=y/x+20.......eq2
Substituting eq1 and 2
3x+60=4x
therefore, x=60 answer

A snail covered 3mm in the frst sec and 4 mm each in each successive sec,for a certain number of sec. However if it had covered 1mm in the 1 st sec and 8 mm more in each successive sec for some secs, then the difference between the length of the path it would have covered during the same time and the actual path that it actually took would have been more than 6 mm but less than 30 mm.find the time for which the snail moved?
