As you all know, Infosys written test is the toughest of all MNC's. So, i started preparing for it about 8 days prior. Luckily i got cleared the written test(this is Off campus). They called me for interview process. The day came, they test your perseverance the most. I went to college by 8am and i got call at 7pm (no breakfast, no lunch, just had one good day biscuit packet). They clubbed both TR&HR. He asked introduce yourself and then about my project and some cross questions regarding my project. What do you know about software, that is stunning question i baffled at once but, i tried to answer it. Now, its programming turn. He asked me to write Some programs and i managed. Later he asked me some core questions(ece candidate). That's it guys. My interview experience is mediocre. I got placed in infosys. Interview experience is based on panel also. Good luck.

Written test:
Total: 310

In written there is sectional cut-off so prepare accordingly.Manage your time and first try to attempt easy questions so that you can cross the sectional limit.

3 sections:
1.Reasoning (questions:15 time:25min) level: easy-moderate

5 questions from Data Interpretation.
5 questions from Syllogism.

cut off around 9 questions.

2.Quantitative (questions:10 time:35min) level moderate-high

1 question from time,speed,distance
1 question from mixture.
1 question from cryptography.
1 question from probability.

5 questions based on a puzzle
cutoff 6 questions.

3.verbal ability (questions:40 time:35 min) level moderate
time is very less so time management is main in this part.

5 questions on comprehension
5 questions on comprehension
5 on sentence correction
5 on arrangement
5 on fill in the blanks
5 on selecting the correct sentence out of all

2 rounds
1. onlinetest by infosys
2.tech/ general HR.

ONLINE TEST consist of 3 sections,
1. reasoning -15 qns -25 mins
syllogism -5 qns
data interpretation( graph, bar chart, or table)- 5 qns
data sufficiency - 5 qns.
This round is not really tough, u shld know how basic syllogism shld be solved, only prior practise can help u. four syllogism groups will be given and u need to find the group(s) that are actually correct.
data interpretation qns will be simpl with ratios and percentages comparing two different years.
Data sufficiency is really easy, simple twist,try solving tough questions from this section ,so info qns will be easy for u (more on equations, numbers ...)

try to get atleast 10 to 11 questions correct in dis section , dat is more than enough..sectional cut off is there..so try getting minimum marks in all the section.

2.Aptitude -10 qns -35 mins
puzzle-5qns ...this one will be toughest part of info ,i guess..it s a kind of arrangement question ,..but questions based on that arrangement part will be really tough..i dont get ans for any questions...so practise a lot in this section..try solving GRE ,GMAT type of toughest arrangement questions...

general apti qns: number series -1 qn
crypt arithematic - 1 qn
other 3 qns from probability, permutation combination,alligation and mixture
if u r good at solvng apti, then dis s just a cake walk..but if u r not good at it,,try solving the tough qns and understand the concepts foremost,...on apti...crypto takes more time..u can solve only if u had practise..series will be moderate...

i felt this section tough coz im bad at apti... try to get 6 or 7 qns right..
try solving the easier one first and then go for the toughest problem..so u can get enough time to solve the problem. concentrate in this section if u r bad at apti.

3.verbal 40 qns -30 mins..
this section is not really tough as othrs say,,..they ll not ask GRE level tough qns....
actually the questions will be simple..but confusing...it needs the basic understanding of english..if u r good at english,,then this will not be really tough.

sentence correction-7qns
insert correct phrase - 7 qns
fill blanks - 8 qns
theme detection -5 qns
reading comp-1 (small) -5 qns - lil tough
reading comprehension -2(big) - 5 qns -easy but takes more time..

frankly speaking one cannot complete this section,,so u need to go for the one which u can answer easily, theme detection, fill blanks, will be easy.. and error correction will be moderate,,simple but confusing,,all the answers will look in shuffld type,,which shows all are correct answs, reading comp takes more time..so try at last,,go for the questions and then look for answers.

most rejections happen at the first round,if u r selected in ur first ,u ll be almost selected (around 85% will be selected)in second round,,so if ur dream job is info..then practise it bfore u attend the test,,last min practise will never help u.

2. technical interview/generasl Hr:
im from mechanical dept,,and it is based on ur panel whether they ask u programming relatd qns or not,if u r from non cs/IT then,u ll asked to write som prog from basic c, for cs and IT,, they ll hav qns relatd to thier subjects..
again it depend on panel u enter, for me..they havent asked any program, he just asked me all the questions from my resume..my areas of interest, latest technology, my project, and general HR qns lik y info ? y frm mechanical ?(get good ans for dese qns )..
mine was very simpl..but for some they asked the basics qns of thier core like free body diag frm my core...and again depends on panel.. even if u donno ,u jus try to solve the program,,,they just check for ur communication skills,,im not threatening u..but i wanted to say luck also favours in these type of interviews to decide which panel u r going..

finally, i got selected and im INFOSCIAN now (happy to write coz whenever i read interview exp, everyone concludes with this..) i wish u all good luck :)

Hello my dear friends !

I am Azhagar, Final year Electrical Engineering student of K.L.N.College of Engineering. While seeing interview experience of others in IndiaBix and m4maths I was just longing for my turn to post my interview experience after my success, so finally I've deserved for this after some failures, because I've selected in one of the most reputed companies in the world "INFOSYS".

Okay lets start my experience. I attended "Tamilnadu State Level Placement" drive arranged by Anna university in Tirunelveli on 19.01.15 and 20.01.15.

As usual first round is Aptitude:

Logical: 15 questions(25 minutes).
Quants: 10 questions(35 minutes).
Verbal: 40 questions(35 minutes).

Logical and quants will be easy you don't need to concentrate more on this but you have to do some work by solving problems in R.S. Aggarwal and logical reasoning part in IndiaBix because then only you will get confidence to attend the test.

Logical reasoning: Syllogism, direction sense, theme detection.

Verbal :

Don't think this part is very tedious as others opinion, this is moderate part and it is up to your verbal skills. I must say I am not good in English but I put my effort to get some improvement on this and I deserved.

* More concentration on vocabulary because if you can understand the meaning of given content you can easily find out the answers.

* Give more concentration for Sentence correction part: (Take IndiaBix questions and get an Idea).

* Two long passages will be given in comprehension part but that will be very easy you can find out answers by searching keywords as in questions.

*Try to get at least 25-30 answers correct.

Almost 1500 students appeared for this drive and among them around 240 students got selected in first round including me.

2nd round: (HR and Technical).

During this session I really felt like God's grace is on my side because I got one nice and very very friendly person as HR.

Me: May I get in sir (with little nervous).
HR: Get in. Hi Azhagar, How is your day?
Me: I am so excited sir.

HR: (Introduced himself to me).
HR: Which film have you seen recently?
Me: Told.

HR: Can I know about the story of that movie?
Me: As that movie was being my heart touching movie, I could explain that story with little excitement.( I could see he was some what impressed).

HR: Can you draw and explain your mini project circuit diagram(Because I from eee so he tried to make me to draw circuit).
Me: Can I take some time sir.( took nearly 10 minutes and some what managed to explain the concept).

Hr: (Gave some programs and asked me what is output).
Me: Again I managed to answer.

Hr: Okay. Azhagar, do you have anything to say?
me: Can I've my feedback sir.

Hr: (I felt he was not interested to tell that) but he said "ya it was nice to interview you".
me: Thank you sir.

Finally I got result with sweet news that is I am selected. Ya that is really a memorable moment in my life.( among 240 around 140 students got selected).

My advice: As I said earlier I've deserved this after some hard and painful failures even I got frustrated some time I didn't give up my hard work.

So do your work and don't expect too much when attending placement drives just try to learn from your failures and try to rectify that next time.

When your turn come everything will be good.

So I am proud to say I am going to be an Infoscion.

i wrote the written test of infosys which was conducted in st.martins college on 8th november.verbal section is full of passages.so try to read fast.and shold have analytical skills also..reasoning section is full of statements like
1.all tres are chairs
2.all chairs are tabls...etc.........
So total reasoning section depends on analytical and logical..

So, Infosys called me for the written test at NIEC, Delhi on 26 oct. Online test was scheduled in two shifts , more than 1500 students appeared and approx 500-600 were called for interview.

Eligibility Criteria:-65% (average of all sub) in B.tech with no back logs

Currently I am working as a programmer at National Informatics Centre, Delhi . I had given tests in big companies like sapient, tcs, syntel, sun life financial etc , with this much experience I can say that the recruitment procedure of infy is simplest, you can easily crack it without having pretty good academic background and technical expertise.

1 Round---written test-->Elimination round


It consisted of three parts:

1) First part consisted of 5 Data Interpretation questions 5 logical reasoning question (linear arrangement) a bit easy, and 5 Data Sufficient questions of Moderate level. It was of 25 min

2) This part consisted of Quantitative questions, 10 questions were there, 25 min was the duration. 5 questions were very easy rest were little bit tricky.Syllogism was quite tough.

3) This part consisted of English/Verbal Ability (35 ques). Duration was of 40 min. sentence correction, and comprehension, not that much difficult

Tips and topics for written test:-

1)There is sectional cutt off of each section.So you have to clear all the sections and there is no negative marking.

2)Do selective topics of quant like-Ratio and proportion, time and work, time and distance,number system,percentage and geometry(triangle).

3)Don't try to mug up previous year papers, just see the pattern what type of question can be asked.

4) Do your own practice from Arun Sharma or R.S Agarwal.

5)For verbal section just learn some basic rules of grammar, tenses and increase your concentration while reading the paragraph. It was not that much typical.


I got the call letter for the interview on the same day.I started preparing hard for technical and HR.

Interview was scheduled at 2:00 PM, my turn came at around 7:00 PM


It was based on luck some got technical some got HR I got both (HR+Technical)

M: Yes, please come in, Have seat.

He was a young person age around 30-32 yrs , with glowing eyes, we shook hands.

I: Tell me about or academic background
M: I started from my school , told the % of 10 and 12, than B.tech and brief him my projects and training I had undergone.

I: what was your last project?
M:told

I:Have you made it by your own?
M: I replied confidently and explain the database tabled which I had used.

I: Ca you do coding in both java and C?.
M: Replied confidently and positively?

I: Difference between java 1.6 and 1.7?
M: told

I : What is garbage collection
M: told

I: What you know about infosys.?
M: That was the question for which I was waiting for.I told everything about the infy and speak up to 4-5 min. He was quite impressed.

He asked me about my notice period in current organization and technology on which I am working.

That's the end of my intvw.

Tips For Interview

1) Always maintain eye contact with interviewer with a sweet smile on your face and talk politely in a mannered way like a professional.

2)Students other than IT and CS not to prepare much for technical, just learn some sorting and basics program of C and puzzles .Focus on your HR and justify why you want to come in IT sector instead of going in your own sector.

3) Dress well in formals (without tie), carry a folder of your documents and maintain your body posture while walking , sitting.

4)Don't show that you have been tired because of waiting too long.

5)If a girl is beautiful , charming, well dressed, fluent in English but technically zero than the probability of her selection will be higher...:)
