Solution

let initial population = a
decreased population = a/3
so remaining population = 2a/3
now increased population = 4a/3
so new population = 2a/3 + 4a/3 = 2a
it means initial population will be half of the population at last

The bacteria grows in exponential manner, the bacteria proportion at 3.00 P.M is 300 then at 7.00 P. M it raise to 153600. By how much will be the proportion of bacteria at 10.00 P.M?

here 7.00 P.M. in the question is wrongly printed it should be 6.00 P.M.
answer is following:
let the number of bacteria is given by n = k*(a^t)
according to the given condition 300 = k*(a^0) (here 0 power represents 3.00 P.M.)
similarly 153600 = k*(a^4) (here 4 power represents total time used in hours which is 3)
on dividing second equation by first we will get 153600/300 = a^3 or 512 = a^3 so a = 8 on putting a = 8, and k = 300 by first equation
so at 10.00 P.M. number of bacteria n = k*(a^7) = 300*(8^7) = 300*2097152 = 629145600
