Quantity of Zinc in first & second alloy= 5/13 & 5/8 respectively
Quantity of copper in first & second alloy=8/13 & 3/8 respectively
The resultant mix will contain quantity of Zinc & copper=
[(5/13)+(5/8)] : [(8/13)+(3/8)]
=105/104 : 103/104

and in second alloy quantity of zinc is 65 and copper 39

& 2nd alloy contains 5x zinc & 3x copper , total 8x
amount of both alloy should be same
so we have to take LCM of both amount
LCM of 13x & 8x will be 104x
so amount of zinc & copper in first alloy will be 40x & 64x respectively
& in 2nd alloy it will be 65x & 39x respectively
so the total amount of zinc=40x+65x=105x
& the amount of copper=64x+39x=103x
required ratio=105x/103x=105:103 option(4) ans

1=((5/8)-x)/(x-(5/13))
x(zinc)=105/208
copper=1-105/208=103/208

Let we take 1 kg of both type of alloy

1 kg of alloy(A1) with Z:C=5:8

1kg of alloy(A2) with Z:C=5:3

quantity of Z in A1=5/5+8 ×1

Quantity of C in A1=8/5+8 ×1

Quantity of Z in A2=5/5+3 ×1

Quantity of C in A2=3/5+3 ×1

Now when they mixed

proportion of Z (in total)=5/13+5/8=105/104

proportion of c (in total)=8/13+3/8=103/104

Ratio of Z:C (in total)=105/104:103:104

Gives the ans. =105:103

Ratio in the Alloy 1 =5:8, Total =13
Ratio in the Alloy 2 =5:3, Total =8

LCM of 13 * 8 is 104

Say 104 kg of each alloy (A1 & A2) is mixed.
For A1, Zn Qty = 104000*5/13 = 40000
For A1, Cu Qty = 104000*8/13 = 64000

For A2, Zn Qty = 104000*5/8 = 65000
For A1, Cu Qty = 104000*3/8 = 39000

In mixed alloy Qty of Zn = 40000 + 65000 = 105000
In mixed alloy Qty of Cu = 64000+39000 = 103000

In mixed alloy ration of Zn & Cu = 105000/103000 = 105:103
