According to the problem,
96x+24y=520---(i) [since, 1 dozen=12 qty.]
3x+4y=60-----(ii)
By solving these equations we get:
x=2.05
y=13.46
hence,x+y=15.5 ans.

putting the values of x & y on L.H.S of any equation suppose in equation-(ii)
L.H.S=3x+4y=3(2.05)+4(13.46)=59.99=60(apx)=R.H.S proved.
