A deck of 5 cards (each carrying a distinct number from 1 to 5) is shuffled thoroughly. Two cards are then removed one at time from the deck. What is the probability that the two cards are selected with the number on the first card being one higher than the number on the second card?

n(s) =5*4
n(e)= {(2,1),(3,2),(4,3),(5,4)} = 4
p = 1/5

You have 3bags each containing two marbles.bag A contain 2 white marbles , bag B contaion 2 black marbles,bag C contains one white marble and one block marble. You pick a random bag and take out one marble.it is a white marble.probability that the remaining marble from the same bag is also white ?

bag can be A or C
1st is white so 2nd can be w/b so p =1/2

1/a - 1/b = 1/c where a,b,c are single digit number and b > a . Then we have to find how many values are possible for a,b,c as per the given conditions..?

assertion reasoning question
ques 1 is x integer
1) x/2 is integer
2) 2x is integer

ques 2 there are three consecutive prime number p,q,r, such that q-p=2 what is the value of r

1) only 1 is suffice
x must be even integer.
2x=5 then x not integr.

2) either suffice

Three numbers A,B,C are such that the difference between the highest and the second highest two-digit numbers formed by using two of A,B and C is 5.Also ,the smallest two two-digit numbers differ by 2.If B>A>C then what is the value of B?

(a)1 (b)6 (c)7 (d)8

BA-BC=5 => A-C=5
CB-CA=2 => B-A=2
adding weget, B-C = 7 => B > 7
from options B= 8 is possible.

A lady bought five books namely A,B,C,D,E to distribute her 3 child. How many ways she can distribute books?

60

With A,B combinations C or D or E are possible, with A,C combinations B or D or E are possible, with A,D combinations B or C or E are possible, with A,E combinations B or C or D are possible
So total 12 combinations for A are possible for selecting 3 among 5 like (A,B,C), (A,B,D), (A,B,E), (A,C,B), (A,C,D), (A,C,E), (A,D,B), (A,D,C), (A,D,E), (A,E,B), (A,E,C), (A,E,D)
Similar 12 combinations are possible for remaining 4
So total ways=5*12=60

P is an even number (I think greater than 2 it was given). e is the probability of number of even numbers divisible by p, o is the probability of number of odd number divisible by p and w is the probability of number of whole numbers divisible by p. Then which equation satisfies.
1. w=2 e
2. w=e/2
3. w=o/2
4. not remember

ABC is a right-angle triangle with sides R1, R2 and R3 such that no sides are even simultaneously. If 102 is added to all sides and then squared we get S1, S2, S3 (Sn=square of (Rn+102)). If T= S1+S2+S3.
Then, which is always true for T.
1. divisible by 2 but not by 4
2. divisible by 4 not by 8
3. divisible by 8 not by 4
4. none of the above

RAKESH   10 years ago
as given condn 2 of R1, R2 and R3 will be odd nos
consider tr (3,4,5)
then T = (3+102)^2 + (4+102)^2 + (5+102)^2
= (3^2+4^2+5^2)+ 3*102^2 + 2*102*(3+4+5)
its clear that
T is always divisible by 2 but not by 4
