The ratio of the ages of Aunt Agatha and Uncle Roger is 5:6, the same a the ratio of the ages of their children, Suzanne and Bernard. If the sum of the ages of Suzanne and Aunt Agatha, five years ago was 60, what will be the sum of the ages of Bernard and Uncle Roger five years hence?

If present ages of Aunt Agatha=A, Uncle Roger=R, Suzanne=S, Bernard=B, then
A/R=5/6 ---(i) & S/B=5/6 ---(ii)
Given (A-5) + (S-5)=60, S+A=70 ---(iii)
From (i) 6A=5R & from (iii) A=70-S, so 6(70-S)=5R , 420- 6S=5R ---(iv)
From (ii) 6S=5B, substituting in (iv), 420- 5B= 5R or B+R=84 ---(v)
So ages of Bernard and Uncle Roger after 5 years= (B+5) +(R+5)=B+R+10 =84+10 =94

Saving of a girl will be 10,20,30,40, ......... to sum up 1200 Rs.
As this forms an arithmetic series with first term a=10, difference d=10
Sum of an arithmetic series=(n/2)[2*a+(n-1)d]=1200 or (n/2)[2*10 + (n-1)*10]=1200
On simplifying , n^2+n-240=0 , (n-15)(n+16)=0, so n=15
