can u explain clearly i can get u ..
Like? Yes | No
vasanthapriyan   12 years ago
let the cost price is rs.100
increase 33.33% => 133.33
now reduce discount 10% => 119.997 => 120
so the profit is 20% on cost price
Like? Yes (1) | No
Sandeep R   12 years ago
Let cost price be 100
let it be increased by x%
then new price = 100+x/100*100=100+x
now on reducing it by 10% we will get 20% profit i.e. 20% on Rs. 100. So new amount =120
therefore:

(100+x)-10(100+x)/100=120
(100+x)-(100+x)/10=120
=>9(100+x)=1200
=>3(100+x)=400
=>100+x=400/3=133.33
=>x=33.33

Solve it mentally:

distance traveled by both in 6hrs is 54km and 90 km respectively.
so gap after 6 hrs is 36km.
new speed = 18 km/h and 15 km/h which means the person who started with 9km/hr will close the gap by 3km per hour. so he will take another 12 hours to close the gap of 36km.

hence total time taken = 6+12=18 hours.

let d speed of d train be xkm/hr
and distance be dkm
(45/60)x = d
(48/60)(x-5) = d
by solving we get, x = 80km/hr and d= 60km
hence distance b/w A & B station is 60km.

At the end of year their shares are in the ratio of 12:5:6. Then mukesh share is 4600*(6/23)=1200.

ans : 12
M1*D1=M2*D2=> 1 man=2 children then we have to find total work.
16M*24=16*2*24=768
12 men started work so 12m*14=12*2*14=336

768-336=432
then 12M+12C=12*2c+12C=36
remaing work/36
=432/36
=12

assume 1man completes 1 unit of work....therfore 16man in 24days completes =16*24=384units...
48 children do the same work in 16days...
if x unit is d wrk done by one child then total work done is 48*x*16=384
x=0.5 units
12 men started d work n performs 14 days so work completed=12*14=168units
work left=384-168=216units
12children joins dem work done by them in one day is 12*0.5=6 units
total work done by 12 men and 12 children in one day is 12+6=18 units
therfore days needed=216/18=12days
