Ratio of time taken by X:Y is X:3X [ if X finished in 1 day, Y takes 3 days]

X completes 60 days less than Y

X=3X-60
X=30

So X completes the work in 30 days
Y ll complete in Y=3X ==> Y=3(30)====> Y=90days

X+Y's 1 day work ----> 1/30+1/90
= 90+30/2700 ===>120/2700 ====>12/270 ---->4/90==2/45

Together they ll complete in

45/2 days ===> 22 1/2 days

If X & y can do the work in 'x' & 'y' days respectively
y-x=60 ---(i) & y=3x ---(ii)
Solving x=30,y=90
Days to finish the work together=1/[(1/30)+(1/90)]=90/4=22.5

ratio of no of days requied to complete the work
X : Y = 1:3

Let X takes x days and Y takes 3x days
3x-x = 2x = 60days
x=30

therefore X takes 30 days and Y takes 90 days
together they take
(30*90)/(30+90) = 90/4days
= 22 2/4days

y=3x....(i)
y-x=60...(ii)

From above equatioons, we get
x=30
y=90

Togather they finished=2/45 of total work per day.

Finished the work by 45/2days=22 and 1/2 days.
