10 % of x + 20 % of x/2 + 30 % of x/3 + 40 % of x/4 +...............
.........................+ 100 % of x/10 =
OPtion
1) 0.5 x
2) 0.75 x
3) 0.9 x
4) 1 x
5) 1.2 x
6) 1.5 x
7) 1.8 x
8) 2.4 x
9) 2.8 x
10) 3 x
Solution
There are 10 terms in the expression and each term is equal to x/10
for example 40 % of x/4 = (x/4)*(40/100) = x/10
Sum of all 10 terms = 10*(x/10) = x
The sum of 5 positive integers is 16. If we subtract the greatest integer from the sum, the average of remaining 4 integers would be 2.5. In the similar manner if we subtract the least one, the average of remaining 4 integers would be 3.75. The average of middle 3 integers will be
2.5 * 4 = 10 so the greatest number is 16 -10 = 6
3.75 * 4 = 15 so the least number is 16 - 15 = 1
thus the sum of middle 3 numbers = 16 - 6 - 1 = 9
average = 9/3 = 3
A man invests 2000 rupee in two business. In first business , he gets a loss of 10 %, whereas in second he gets a profit of 25 %.If overall profit is 4 % of the net investment, then difference of amounts of these two investments will be
Loss of the first business = 0.1x ( here x is investment in first business)
Profit in the second business = 0.25(2000-x)
so 0.25(2000-x)- 0.1x = 2000*0.04 = 80
On solving we get x = 1200
so answer = 400
There are two taps in a tank. One tank is there for filling water in the tank and second is used for ejecting water from it. The first tap can fill the tank in 8 hours whereas second tap requires 10 hours for making the tank empty. If both taps are used together, hours required for filling the complete tank will be
