Proportion of alcohol in 3 samples is 3/8, 2/5, 1/5 or 15/40, 16/40, 8/40 respectively
Proportion of water in 3 samples is 5/8, 3/5, 4/5 or 25/40, 24/40, 32/40 respectively
So, when equal quantity of all samples is taken, ratio of alcohol & water = (15+16+8) : (25+24+32) = 39 : 81 = 13 : 27

Between year 1200 and 2000, leap century year will be 1600 (Century divisible by 400)
First leap year after 1600 is 1604.
So year of birth is 1 year after 1604 i. e. 1605.

. A vessel contains mixture of milk and water in the ratio of 7:1 respectively. 24 liters mixture
is removed from the vessel and if the quantity of remaining milk in the vessel is 56 liters, then find
quantity of water in the vessel initially.
Reply Like? Yes | No
Devendra Marghade   3 years ago
Ans: 11 liters

Let, initial mixture contains milk=7x and water=x
Then, quantity of remaining milk after removing 24 liters of mixture=7x - 24*(7/8)=56
56x - 168 = 448
x = 11
.'. Quantity of water in initial mixture = x = 11 liters.

Very simple 11lts.
After removing 24 lts the mixture is in the same ratio
Milk:water=7:1=56:w=>w=56*1/8=8lts
In 24 lts removed mixture=24*1/8=3lts.
So total water is 11 ltd.

The average weight of A,B and C is 65kg,if the person D joins them the the average weights of those four persons becomes 70kg, the average weight of B,C and D is 75 kg then the weight of A is (in kgs)
Reply Like? Yes | No
Devendra Marghade   3 years ago
A+B+C=3x65=195 ---(i)
A+B+C+D=4x70=280 ---(ii)
Eqn (ii) - (i), D=85
Also, B+C+D=3x75=225 => B+C=140 ---(iii)
Eqn (i) - (iii), A=55
Therefore, weight of A=55 Kg.

Average of A,B,C,D=70Kg
Sum of A+B+C+D=280Kg
Average of B,C,D=75Kg
Sum of B+C+D=225Kg
A's Weight=280-225=55Kg

A person sold an article for 1840 Rs. And profit incurred will be 12.5% more than the loss incurred when article is sold for 1500 rs. At what price it should be sell to get 20% profit?
Reply Like? Yes | No
Devendra Marghade   3 years ago
Ans: Rs. 1992

Let CP=Rs. x, then Profit when SP is 1840 = (112.5/100)*Loss when SP is 1500
(1840-x) = (112.5/100)*(x-1500)
184000 - 100x = 112.5x - 168750
Solving, we get x = 1660
So, SP when profit is 20% = 1660*(120/100) = 1992 Rs.

There is a splendid fountain in the heart of Paris Tourists throw coins into the fountain in the belief that their wishes would come true. At the end of each day, a group of urchins jump into the water and pick up the coins. It is a tradition that they share the amount equally On Friday, had 5 urchins not shown up due to rain, each of those present would have received a Euro more But had it been a sunny day and there had been 15 more urchins, each would have received 2 Euros less, Find the total number of Euros in the fountain on Friday
Reply Like? Yes | No
Devendra Marghade   3 years ago
Let x urchins gets y Euros each, when all urchins are present, then total Euros=x*y
As per given conditions, (x-5)*(y+1)=xy ⇒ x-5y=5 ---(i) and
(x+15)*(y-2)=xy ⇒ -2x+15y=30 ---(ii)
Solving above equations, we get x=45, y=8
Therefore, total number of Euros=45*8=360
