Dear Admin,
I do not agree with your NO ANSWER. As per the information given
Volume of water through the pipe in 1 hour=22*15000*0.14.*0.14/7
=924 cu.m/h
Volume of the water increased in the tank is=44*28*1/2=616cu.m
Time it takes =616/924=2/3h=40minutes.
Correct option is 10.
So saying NO ANSWER is not right.
Correct option is 10.

It is given that for a tree that has x nodes, if x-1 of it's nodes are leaves then this tree is a star.

You have N star trees and the number of leaves for each. We call a subset of star trees beautiful if they can be merged together.

Pragati your hope for the new year again failed by the admin . For yesterday's (4-1-22) puzzle admin answered as -54+45=-99. It's a new thing in maths.
I don't understand why admin is not taking care while putting questions. When it is following many and it is a good platform we must take care every time. Key should be prepared and re checked every time. Finally I would like to say me maths means murder for maths

For puzzle dated 24.12.2021, answer should be none of the above... option 10.
Hcf.. 4 mtr is side of square tile.
Hence area of square tile=16 sq mtr
Number of tiles = 24x20/16=30

Although I have also answered 120 and got marks, but it is not correct.
Please check and give marks to deserving members.

Our weekly winner would be decided based on the following factors:

1) Top Scorer for the week in Today's puzzle and someone who has not already won a prize in previous weeks in the same month.
2) A particular week would be considered as part of a month if the Friday falls in the same month.
3) In case if a Top Scorer has already won the prize in past weeks, the second top scorer of that week would be the Weekly Winner and so on.
4) In case of a tie, M4Maths Team will decide the winner by taking other parameters into consideration

Examples:
In week-1 of a Month, Ram's score is 92 and is the highest among all users. The Weekly Prize Winner is Ram
In week-2 of a Month, Ram's score is 94 and is the highest among all users, Rahim's score is 91 and is second highest. The Weekly Prize Winner is Rahim.

25 NOV 2021 SpeedA and B take part in a 200 m race. A run at 5.4 Km/h. A gives B a start of 12 m and still beat him by 6 sec. Speed of B is:
OPTION1. 5.15 Km/h
2. 4.14 Km/h
3. 4.25 Km/h
4. 4.40 Km/h
5. 4.51 Km/h
6. 5.20 Km/h
7. 4.85 Km/h
8. 4.95 Km/h
9. 5.11 Km/h
10. None of the above
SolutionA’s speed = (5.4x 5/18) m/sec = 27/18 m/sec
Time taken by A to cover 200 m
= (200 x 18/27) sec = 133.33 seconds.
∴ B covers 188 m in 133.33 + 6 = 139.33 seconds.
B’s speed = {(188/139.33) x (18/5)} Km/h
= 4.85 Km/h

Dear Admin,
For 16th Nov puzzle you asked about the time gap between their meets. Let A and B meets at C with speeds 40km ,60km.A after 1 hr they meet at c nearer to A.
A has to reach B with a distance 60km which may take 3/2 hrs
In 3/2 hr car from B 3*60/2=90km.
It means 50km back . Now the distance between the cars is 50km
Which they cross further 1/2hr
So they met after 2hrs (3/2+1/2)
So the gap is 2-1 =1hr
Here I took as 40km,60km for calculation purpose. Replace 40,60 with 48 and 64 kms.
I think solution given by you might be wrong.
Like? Yes | No (4)

Dr.Dipin Singh   3 years ago
As per your speeds, they will meet first after 1 hr.
After 2 hrs, one car (A) has travelled distance of 120 kms ( 100 kms in first side and 20 kms in return). Other car (B) has travelled 80 kms and not completed first side. Second car (B) has to travel 20 kms on first side and then return to meet other car (A) .
Afterl 3 hrs, A has travelled 180 kms and B has travelled 120 kms when they meet 2nd time.
So time difference in two meetings = 2 hrs

Yes Dipin. Honestly I support your opinion. You should be awarded. The answer is 1.54m^2. Admin should think that no one has given answer as he expected. But once somebody told that we should accept Admin's solution.

Absolutely correct observation by Dr. Dipin.
I think Admin should not consider this puzzle for weekly contest.

You are exactly right Pargat. We can imagine it as a path. If the breadth is taken as in cms then the answers should be in decimal. Or the measurements should be changed. Kindly note the correction Admin.

Dear admin,

Please check the dimensions of playing ground mentioned in puzzle dated 19.10.2021.
Given dimensions of play ground are 17m x 140 cms. means 17m x 1.4 mtrs which may be possible in video games.
Also units of areas ( sq mtrs or sq cms) are not mentioned in options.

Answered puzzle considering typing mistake and taking dimensions as 17m x 14 m.

Earlier I answered option 6 (154 sq mtr) considering dimensions as 17mx14m .
Assuming that Admin will not repeat earlier mistakes again and again, I changed answer to option 10 ( none of the above) resulting in award of -3 marks. :)

For puzzle dated 01-10-2021, I have submitted my answer as 10 which is shown correctly in my home page.
Answer for puzzle is given as option 10 by admin also.
But I have been awarded -1 mark for correct solution.

Is it specific to me only as a special privilege to benefit other members ?
Please check and confirm.

Dear Admin,
I think your answer for yesterday's puzzle is wrong. The answer is like this
methods for arranging 1 boy at centre = 6
methods of arranging 2 girls at corner = 7*6 = 42
methods of arranging remaining 10 persons = 10!
so total methods = 42*6*10!=252*10!
So the option is 6
The same type of puzzle was given on 21th oct 2011. Please look at the solution given.
