Surface area is in m^2.
it is better if you can change the statement of daily puzzle as usual.

Please check puzzle dated 14.06.2021

If the capacity of a cylindrical tank is 4004 m^3 and the diameter of its base is 14 m, then find the depth of the tank?

Solution given is
Let the depth of the tank be h meter
πr²h = 4004
h = 4004/ πr²
h = (4004 x 7/22 x 1/14)
h = 91 m.

I think admin has considered 2r =14 only in place of r^2 ( 7^2).

It should be

Let the depth of the tank be h meter
πr²h = 4004
h = 4004/ πr²
h = (4004 x 7/22 x 1/49)
h = 26 m.

Please check and do justice to maths.

Statement is

student got 90 % marks in an exam of 500 marks. If marks of Physics are printed 94 instead of 72, then the true % obtained by the student will be.....

In solution, 72 has been replaced by 74.
Only privileged few can understand hidden interpretation of 72 as 74 to get the correct answer.

For yesterday's puzzle
Answer is 15.13 meter which in the provided options is approximated to 15.15 meter
So going forward, please don't bother for difference of 20 centimeter when the numbers in question is in meter!

Or else we will loose points the way I lost

a/b=7/3 Option 10
but mention in solution a/b=3/7 option 6

It's a tricky question Varun. Here you should remember as 0.08% is a whole number. That's why it is 2500

Please check your answer for yesterday's (i.e.8-3-21) question. It was given 52 members average age is 32yrs. But it was given in the answer as 51 and 31. Please correct the correctness. For yesterday's question answer is 25yrs. It is like this.
Sum of their ages =52*32=1664
7yrs back their total age=52*32-52*7=1300
Now their average age =1300/52=25yrs. Option 1.

I submitted my answer as 480m for yesterday's puzzle less than 1minute. But in the results given I did not found my name. What happen to the server? Almost every week we are getting some problems. Last week it was opened too late. Kindly restore the issue or de op the capacity of server. As otherwise the efforts you are giving for this channel may become no use.

My answer is option 2 and same is registered at site.
But finally I got marks as -1 only.

For the Puzzle dated 8th December 2020
Answer shown is wrong-
Question:
Vijay can do a certain work in 16 days. Subham is 60% more efficient than Vijay. How many days does Subham alone take to do the same work?
Solution:
Just to help understand lets assume Subham was 50% more efficient:
16days *0.5 = 8 days
So for 60% efficiency
Time taken should be lesser than 8 days
But in the final answer provided it is shown as 10 days!

So where did it go wrong?
60% more efficiency => (100-60)% = 40% time is enough
=> 16*40/100 = 6.4 days
= Option (10)

@admin, please look into this

Vijay's 1 day work=1/16
Subham's 1 day work=(1/16)*(160/100)=1/10
.'. Subham alone can do the same work in 10 days.

Varun I think you are mistaken.
Vijay can do the work in 16 days
Then he can do 1/16 th part.
Subham is 60% more efficient. It means if vijay do 1 unit Subham can do 1.6 units
If Vijay do 1/16 work per day Subham can do =(1/16)*1.6=(1/16)(16/10)=1/10
So subham complete the work in 10days.

Thank you both, very much appreciate the time spent to help understand.
So where I did go wrong is:
Example of 50% more efficiency -
Work Efficiency: Vijay 1, Subham 1.5
Per day work: Vijay 1/16, Subham 1/16*1.5
So 1/16*1.5 = 1.5/16 =>
16/1.5 days = 10.666 days
Similarly for 60% case -> 16/1.6 = 10 days

Dear Admin,

Time taken to answer the daily puzzle is not calculated properly. If i logged in by 4:10 pm and answered by 4:12 pm, it is showing the duration to solve the problem is 5 hrs 13 mins.

Hi Vinoth, it is calculated from the moment the puzzle has been posted. Everyday the puzzle appears at 11AM. So if the answer is submitted at 16:13 total time = 16:13-11 = 4 hours 13 minutes

This type of calculation is necessary because the puzzle can be viewed even without logging in (or by logging in from other (person's) account)
