I think given qn is not correct.

Each alphabet stands for one digit in the following multiplication. find the values of s,o,b,r,i?

Even If we multiply smallest 4 digit number with smallest 3 digit number , we will get 6 digit number as the final product.

@ Iqbal,

Draw prependicular from A to AC meeting BC at M and DE at L.
Triangles ALE and AMC are similar. DL=LE= 1/2 of side of square
MC= 48/2=24 as ABC is isosceles triangle.
If side of square is 2x, then LE=x and AL= 2*24/x= 48/x, AM= ax+48/x

now
AL/AM = LE/MC = x/24
putting values and solving for x,
we get
x= 6 units
side of square = 2x=2*6=12 units

two vessels contain milk solution with milk and water in ratio of 2:11 in first and 5:9 in second.in what ratio should the contents of these two vessels be mixed such that milk and water are in the ratio 3:8.

If 13 x ltrs quantity of first mixture is mixed with 14y ltrs qty. of second mixture to get mixture of ratio 3:8, then

(2x+5y)/(11x+9y)=3/8
x/y=13/17
13x/14y = (13/14)*(x/y)= (13/14)*(13/17)= 169/238

no of digit in 2pqr^4 is 14

check for digits of 2000^4 and 3000^4.

value of 2pqr^4 will lie between
16 000 000 000 000
and
81 000 000 000 000
which have 14 digits.

two solutions of h2so4 are mixed in ration of 3:7.the first solution contains 20% of sulphuric acid and second solution contain 30% of sulphuric acid.find concentration of sulphuric acid in final mixture..........

If first sol is 3 ltrs and 2nd sol is 7 ltrs, then
total sulphuric acid in 10 ltrs = 0.6+2.1= 2.7 ltrs
concentration of sulphuric acid in final mixture = 100*2.7/10 = 27%

43125 sequence is not possible.
Because if he is reading 4th mail, already mails are stacked in order of 4321.
he has read 4th and 3rd mail.
he can not go directly to 1st mail.
If he reads after some time, 2nd mail is on the top if 5th mail has not come yet.
If 5th mail is there, then order will be 5,2,1.
so first mail can not be read before 2nd mail in any case.

only possible case is if he reads first mail before the arrival of 2nd mail.
but he has started reading mails after 4th mail has arrived..

Qn. x+y+z is equal to or less than 8, if x, y and z are integers then maximum product of x, y and z will be

Ans and Reason: maximum product will be obtained for 3,3,2 so it will be 18

My doubt: x, y and z are integers. So, it can have negative value, right? What about x = -100, y = -100, z = 200? x+y+z = 0, which is less than or equal to 8. xyz = 2000000. We can create very large values like this. So, why the answer is still 18?

Eighty Five children went to amusement park where they could ride on merry –go-round roller coaster and Ferris wheel .It was known that 20 of them have took all three rides and 55 of them have taken at least two of the three rides. Each ride cost Rs.1 and the total receipt of the amusement park was Rs.145.
1) How many children did not try any of the rides. ?
2) How many children took exactly one ride?


20 children took all 3 rides.... used Rs 60.
35 took exactly 2 rides............... used Rs 70
15 took exactly 1 ride............... used Rs 15.

Rest (85-(20+35+15))=15 children did not try any ride.
