A laborer can dig a hole of 8 ft square and 8 ft deep in 8 days. how long will it take for him to dig a hole of 4 ft square and 4 ft deep ?

It means in one day , he will dig 8*8/8 = 8 cub ft of hole.
For making a hole of 4*4=16 cubic ft, he will take 16/8 = 2 days

See,
8*8*8 is equal to 8 days
then, 4*4*4 == ??

(4*4*4*8)/(8*8*8) = 1day

SOLUTION:
40 litre contain-
water = 4 litre
Milk = 36 litre

added water assum 'x'

So equation is

(4+x)/36 = 1/4

according to me its answer is 25 because by cosidering worst case if in 24 pick we get socks of same color then 25th socks make sure of 2 socks of diffrent color......

A can do a work in 31 days and B can do the same work in 8 days ,A
alone started the work after few days he was joined by B, and the
work completed in 10 days . After how many days A is been joined by
B.

@Ankit: Below are the rules for today's puzzle:
Rule1 The person with the quickest & the correct answer would be considered as a challenger of the Day.
Rule2 Irrespective of your login the countdown will start at 11:00:00 AM sharp.
Example :-
If you login to your account at 11:25:00 am & submit the answer at 11:29:00 am. Your total time to solve the puzzle would not be considered as 4 minutes rather it would be 29 minute.(Starts from 11:00:00 am.)
