The difference between simple and compound interests compounded annually on a certain sum of money for 4 years at 6.5% per annum is Rs. 1191. The value of the sum (approximately) is:
CI = [x(1+6.5/100)^4] – x = x*(106.5/100)^4 – x
SI = x*4*6.5/100
CI-SI = x*(106.5/100)^4 – x - x*26/100 = 1.2865x – x – 0.26x = 0.265x
As per question CI-SI = 1191
So 0.265x = 1191 => x = Rs. 45000
The present ages of A,B and C are in proportions 4:5:6. Eight years ago, the sum of their ages was 66. What is the sum of present age of A and C?
OPtion
1) 48 years
2) 50 years
3) 52 years
4) 54 years
5) 56 years
6) 58 years
7) 60 years
8) 62 years
9) 64 years
10)66 years
Solution
Eight years ago sum of Ages of A, B and C = 66
Eight years later i.e. sum of current ages of A, B and C = 66+(3*8) = 90
Present Age of A = 90*4/(4+5+6) = 4*6 = 24 years
Present Age of c = 90*6/(4+5+6) = 6*6 = 36 years
Sum = 24+36 = 60 years
SHIVRATRI => AHIIRRSTV
Arranging letters in alphabetical order: AHIIRRSTV => I and R are repeated (2 I’s& 2 R’s)
Words starting with Alphabet A = 8!/(2!*2!) = 10080
Words starting with Alphabet H = 8!/(2!*2!) = 10080
Words starting with Alphabet I = 8!/2! = 20160
Words starting with Alphabet R = 8!/2! = 20160
Words starting with Alphabet SA = 7!/(2!*2!) = 1260
Words starting with Alphabet SHA = 6!/(2!*2!) = 180
Words starting with Alphabet SHIA = 5!/2! = 60
Words starting with Alphabet SHII = 5!/2! = 60

Sum of all words => 2*10080 + 2*20160 + 1260 + 180+ 3*60 + 120 + 2*12 + 2*2 + 1 + 1 =62250
Sum of the ages of a boy and his father is 77 years. Before 22 years Father's age was 10 times the age of the boy. What was the age of father at the time of birth of the child?
OPtion
1) 23 Years
2) 24 Years
3) 26 Years
4) 27 Years
5) 28 Years
6) 29 Years
7) 30 Years
8) 31 Years
9) 32 Years
10)33 Years
Solution
Let the present age of father and son be x and y respectively
According to the given condition
x+y = 77 ---- (i)
before 22 years
(x-22) = 10(y-22)
Replacing value of x from equation (i)
so 77-y-22 = 10(y-22)
=> 55-y = 10y-220
=> 11y = 275
=> y = 25 and x = 52
so at the time of birth of child, age of father = 52-25 = 27 years
CP of 1 Chocolate = 180/90 = Rs. 2
