a) 70
b)74
c)80
d)78
e)84

40% of total time was spent on other task
This means that time spent on software + server related problem is 60% of the time.
So 60% of time is 25+17 =42 hrs
Hence 100% of time is = (42/6)*100 = 70 hrs (option a)

A computer salesperson sold an average of 8 computers per week for the first 34 weeks of the year.Last year he sold a total of 524 computers. To equal the last year's performance,how many computer should he sold on the remaining week?
Reply Like? Yes (3) | No
~Sandeep~   8 years ago
Total Computers sold in 34 weeks = 8*34 = 272
Weeks Remaining = 52-34 = 18 weeks
Number of computers to be sold in remaining 18 weeks to match last years performance = 252
Computers to be sold per week for remaining 18 weeks = 252/18 = 14 computers (Answer)

If a work-station operator can process an average of 14066 documents per day,How many documents can the operator process in 1/2 of a year assuming a 2 day week and 52weeks in a year?
Reply Like? Yes (1) | No
~Sandeep~   8 years ago
Half of year means = 52/2 = 26 weeks
2 day a week means per week there are 2 working days per week
So number of days in 26 weeks = 26*2 = 52 days
Document processed in 1 day = 14066
Document processed in 52 days = 731432 (Answer)

A student purchased a computer system and a colour printer. If he sold the computer system at 10 % loss and the colour printer at 20 % gain, he would not lose anything. But if he sells the computer system at 5 % gain and the colour printer at 15 % loss, he would lose Rs. 800 in the bargain. How much did he pay for the colour printer?

subodh   8 years ago
Answer: B
Let C and P be the cost price of Computer and Printer respectively.
So CP = C + P, Case I,
SP = 0.9C + 1.2P.
Since he did not lose anything C + P = 0.9C + 1.2P  C = 2P.
Case II, SP = 1.05C + 0.85P
Since there was the loss of Rs. 800
Rs.800 = C + P – 1.05C – 0.85P
 80000 = 15P – 5C
Using equation from Case I, we get P = Rs.16000.

28. In simple interest what sum amounts of Rs.1120/- in 4 years and Rs.1200/- in 5
years ?
(A) Rs. 500
(B) Rs. 600
(C) Rs. 800
(D) Rs. 900
Reply Like? Yes | No
~Sandeep~   8 years ago
At the beginning of 4th year, 1120 is the principal which amounts to 1200 in one year. So interest for 1 year = Rs. 80
Interest for 4 years = 80*4 = 320
A = P + SI
P = A - SI = 1120-320 = Rs. 800

Reply Like? Yes | No
S.KAMARAJ PANDIAN    8 years ago
WORK DONE BY A IN 1 DAY = 1/20
WORK DONE BY B IN 1 DAY = 1/30
WORK DONE BY C IN 1 DAY = 1/60
WORK DONE BY A,B,C IN THREE DAYS = 3/20 +1/30+1/60 = 12/60 ( OUT OF 60 PARTS OF THE WORK 12 PART IS COMPLETED IN 3DAYS)
THE REMAINING 48 PART OF THE WORK WILL TAKE ANOTHER 12 DAYS.
SO TOTAL NO OF DAYS IS 15

=> 15 days will be required

Satyaaki and Yudhistra’s problem
Imagine that two divisions of the Pandava army are camped outside an enemy camp of
Kauravas commanded by Bhishma. Each division is commanded by its own general;
Saatyaki and Yudhishtra. The two generals can communicate with one another only by
messengers, who might get caught by the Kauravas. After observing the Kaurava camp,
Saatyaki and Yudhistra must each decide independently whether to attack the Kauravas
or not. Then they must each communicate their plan to the other through messengers.
Upon receiving a message from the other, both Saatyaki and Yudhistra must decide a
common plan of action. The Pandavas can succeed only when both Saatyaki and
Yudhishtra attack the Kaurava camp at the same time.
can anyone solve this and write a algorithm for that ?

Solution for: An army lost 10% of its men in war. 10% of remaining died due to disease and 10% of the rest were declared disabled. Thus the strength of the army was reduced to 729000 active men. Find the original strength of army.

Let the original strength of army was x, then x*[1-(10/100)]^3=729000

=> x= 1000000

Let the army in the begining is 100
Remaining after 10% died is = 100 - 100*10/100 = 90
Remaining after 10% diseased = 90 - 90*10/100 = 81
Remained after lessing disabled = 81 - 81*10/100 = 72.9
If remained part is 72.9 then army at the begining is 100
If the army remained is 729000 then the army in the begining = 729000* 100/72.9 = 729000*1000/729 = 1000000 = 10 lacs.

One got 30% another got 70%(If we think all are voted).
Difference is 40% =210
Totally the votes = 210*100/40=525

Area of the wet surface = [2(lb + bh + lh) - lb]

, A job may be completed in 12 days, working for 8 hours a day if 20 men or 24 women or 40 boys perform the task. If a task four times as big as this is done for 5 hours a day for 12 days, how many men will be required to join 6 women and 2 boys to complete the task?
Reply Like? Yes | No
G.S.Kantharao   8 years ago
20 men can do in 12*8hrs.
The same can do 4times of the task in 12*8*4hrs
Let X men can do in 12*5hrs
X= 20*12*8*4/12*5=128.
They are already 6 women and 2 boys are there together with men
We already know that 20men= 24women
5men=6 women and 20 men = 40boys
1man= 2boys
6 women and 2boys = (5+1)= 6men
Therefore the remaining men= 128- 6=122.

The concentration of spirit in three different vessels A, B and C are 45%, 30% and 25% respectively. If 4 litres from vessel A, 5 litres from vessel B and 6 litres from vessel C are mixed, find the concentration of spirit in the resultant solution?.Can anyone help me to solve this problem
Reply Like? Yes (2) | No
G.S.Kantharao   9 years ago
It is {(4*45)/100} + {(5*30)/100} + {(6*25)/100} = 1.8 + 1.5 + 1.5 = 4.8Lt.
Concentration = [{(4.8)*100}/15] = 480/15 = 32%
