Total length(in km.) to be crossed=0.180+0.250=0.430 and
time(in hr.) required to cross =20/3600 with relative speed =45+x
So 0.430/(45+x)= 20/3600, On solving x=32.4

From (i) & (ii), D/S=4/5
Now substituting the value of D/S in (i), D/A=11/20
Ratio S/A=(D/A)/(D/S)=(11/20)/(4/5)=11/16

I have a small trick for time and work.

1) A can do a job in 'm' days, and b can do the same job in 'n' days, then both completes in (m*n)/(m+n).

2) A can do a job in 'm' days, and b can do the same job in 'n' days, and C can complete in p days , then A,B and c can complete work together in (m*n*p)/(m*n+n*p+p*m) days
