there are 1000 doors that are of the open-close type. When a person opens the door he closes it and then opens the other. When the first person goes he opens-closes the doors ion the multiples of 1 i.e., he opens and closes all the doors. when the second goes he opens and closes the doors 2, 4 6 8 respectively. Similarly when the third one goes he does this for 3 6 9 1 2 15th doors resly. Find number of doors that are open at last.

If the land mass of the earth is 1:2 that means one part land to two parts water.... or 1/3 land and 2/3 water.

The northern hemisphere is 2:3 means 2/5 land and 3/5 water.

Getting a common denominator

WORLD: 5/15 land and 10/15 water
NORTH: 6/15 land and 9/15 water

now divide north by two
WORLD: 10/30 land and 20/30 water
NORTH: 6/30 land and 9/30 water

Subtract North From World:

Difference 4/30 land and 11/30 water

That comes out to 4:11 and if you divide by 4 it is 1:2.75

Prob. that he can solve at least one = 1 - prob(solving none)^n

Prob(solving 1 problem out of 4) = 1/4
Prob(solving none) = 1 - 1/4 => 3/4
Therefore Prob(atleast one) = 1 - (3/4)^4
=> 1 - 81/256
=> 175/256

Ans : 175/256

Todays puzzle of 20/06/2014 has broken all records of imaginations. Would like to Congratulate 4 members who solved it though still wondering how did you do it (was it a random guess).
In my opinion these kind of puzzles are too vague to be called logical!

Would be good if we get puzzles which requires logical thinking rather than the one's which involves random reasoning.

there will be 30 q in each section analytical,quan nd eng..20 mn is alloted to eacha sec..in analytical there was syllogism,coding,bld rltn,small puzzle etc..in quant all the topics of r.s agarwal nd in eng 10 q frm psg,5 frm parajumbles,5 frm cloze test,5 fib etc..q are very easy bt time is less..
