any one can tell me negative marking of elitmus exam?
Like? Yes | No
Reply

vikram kumar   11 years ago
First of all negative marking is calculated in every section separately.
If u make upto 25 % of ur attempted question wrong then there will no negative marking.
for. eg if u attempt 8 questions out of which 2 are wrong ..then no negative marking..
and after that limit 50% negative marking for every question..
ie if u make 5 questions wrong out of 8 then , 2 question are under permissible limit (ie 25% of 8) and for rest 3 wrong questions 50% negative marking will be done.

1) 5 liters

Price of 15 litre @ Rs. 200/liter = 15*200=3000
Quantity of chemical required to make mixture Rs. 150/liter= 3000/150= 20
So quantity of water in mixture =20-15=5 liters

Respected Admin: I would like to draw your kind attention in the issue that there is always a lag of 2 seconds when you click on the SUBMIT button and it says PLEASE WAIT while saving my answer and ultimately the answer is saved after 2 seconds each and every time I do...Today I answered in just 59 seconds to be honest but after saving my answer it shows I have submitted my answer in 1:01 Minute(s)...Well, that is unfair because then it will be almost impossible to score 100 in a week if it occurs regularly and this is not expected from a renowned competitive forum like m4maths.com...Your kind consideration anent the today's matter will be wholeheartedly accepted...I will be waiting for your reply like before...

Let he sells 'x' kgs at 15% profit....
and c.p of x kg =Rs. x......
Then s.p for 15% profits becomes 23x/20...
s.p for 20% becomes 6/5(50-x)...
s.p on whole of 50kg becomes 117/2...
on equating we get 30kg...

hie t.venkatesh pls gve the clr explanation why 23x/20????
Like? Yes | No
~Sandeep~   11 years ago
Assuming merchant sells x Kgs at 15% profit.
Profit of selling x Kgs at 15% + Profit of selling (50-x) Kgs at 20% = Profit of selling 50 kgs at 17%
x*115 + (50-x)120 = 117*50
Solving we get x= 30

APTITUDE TOPICS:

Numbers(Remainder based questions)
Ages
problem on trains
Time and work( most imp. for tcs, headstrong and infosys)
Permutation and combination
Probability
Relation based question
Seating arrangement

HR interviews you must prepare:

2-3 min Introduction of yours( This will be the first question you face in HR round, mind it they are keen to know about you not your family)
Family background( they make question on your family background)
Why to join only TCS not microsoft( you must have a positive answer of it)
Why they should hire you
your strengths( never mention your weakness unless they ask it separately)
About the company you are preparing for( take help from wikipedia.org to know about a particular company)
Hobbies and interest
where you see yourself 5 years down the line( never reply as CEO of that company this will ruin your chances, be prepare for this question).
Can you face pressure

cmpre the schemes to get ratio i.e ptr/100..ie.x(10/100)6=1(12/100)10
x=2..lyk dat do for next two schemes...
here i rs is taken bcz he said dat after cmpletion of each scheme he get the same intrest...so i have taken rs 1.
the ratio as x:1:y
if we simplify we get 6:3:2

6 sq.unit
Consider A(4,0),B(6,3) & C(6,-3)
Taking base parallel to Y axis, BC=6 & height of triangle=Perpendicular from A on BC =2
So Area=(1/2)*base*height=(1/2)*6*2= 6

ashutosh   11 years ago
selling price would be 180+180*20/100=216
so Marked price would be 216+45=261
CP+mark up=Marked Price
180+mark up=261
mark up=261-180=81
in 180 mark up is=81
then in 100 mark up would be=81*100/180=45%
which means 45/100=0.45
I hope you will get it.....:p:p:p:p:p:p

R-Rani's Weight
M=Meena's Weight
T=Tara's Weight
R=(25/100)M ----(1)
R=(40/100)T ----(2)
from (1) and (2)
(25/100)M=(40/100)T
M=1.6T
so 160%

R : M : T
40 : 160 : 100
so meera's weight is 160% of tara

The distance between Mumbai-Central and Surat is 300 km. Two trains simultaneously leave from Mumbai-Central and Surat. After they meet the train travelling towards Surat reaches there after 9 hours, while train travelling towards Mumbai Central reaches there after 4 hours. Find the speed of each train in kmph.
a] 25, 40
b] 20, 30
c] 55, 50
d] 10, 15

i think option (b) is correct.. suppose train from mumbai central run with a speed of x... and 2nd one with a speed of y.... the train meet after running P km from mumbai central... then since the time taking to reach this point is same for both the train so..
(P/x)=((300-P)/y)
also it is given that
(300-P)/x = 9
and
P/y = 4...
solving these three equation u will get x = 20 and y = 30;
thanx..
Like? Yes (1) | No
ashutosh   11 years ago
after meeting the ratio of speed would be-
let for mumbai train speed is M and surat is S
M:S=sqrt(4):sqrt(9) i.e. 2:3
Now,both of the trains take 9 and 4 hours respectively.So,
let a proportional constant is k.
Then,9*2k+4*3k=300 i.e.k=10
it means the speed is 10*2=20 and 10*3=30 .
I hope you will get it.
