ramesh and suresh started journey from bangalore to chennai. ramesh starts at 1 30pm from bangaore and suresh starts 3pm at banglore and suresh over took ramesh at 6 pm and reaches at 9 pm at chennai.when will ramesh reached at chennai?

Devendra Marghade   7 years ago
10:30 pm.

Let speed of Ramesh & Suresh be R & S respectively, then 4.5R = 3S
=> ratio of speeds = R : S = 2 : 3
So ratio of time = 3 : 2
As Suresh reached in 6 hrs, so Ramesh took 6*(3/2)=9 hrs.
Hence Ramesh will reach at (1:30pm +9 hrs) = 10:30 pm.

Suresh starts 3pm at banglore and Suresh over took Ramesh at 6 pm and reaches at 9 pm at chennai.
It means he overtook Ramesh at mid point of journey.
Ramesh completed half journey in 4.5 hrs and Suresh completed half journey in 3 hrs.
So Ramesh will complete whole journey in 9 hrs and he will reach Chennai at 10.30 PM.

With reference to Today's question dated 12.12.2017, Administrator has rightfully considered deletion of 5 possibilities in case of scoring 6 in first ball .
Please note than scores ( 3,3), (4,2), (4,3) are also not permitted as the game is finished immediately after scoring required runs and no runs can be scored by running further.
Please check and decide the correct answer accordingly.

How do you came up with snow white and seven dwarfs problems answer
The Seven Dwarfs are having breakfast, and Snow White has just poured them some milk. Before drinking, the dwarfs have a ritual. First, Dwarf #1 splits his milk equally among his brothers' mugs (leaving himself with nothing). Then Dwarf #2 does the same with his milk, etc. The process continues around the table, until Dwarf #7 has distributed his milk in this way. (Note that Dwarf #7 is named Dopey!) At the end, each dwarf has exactly the same amount of milk as he started with! If the total amount of milk was 42 ounces.

Q1. how many have empty mugs?
Q2. how many have amount of milk in mug as a prime no.
Reply Like? Yes (1) | No
Manav   7 years ago
1. Only one mug ( of Dwarf #7) was empty.
2. only one mug ( dwarf#6) had 2 ounces which is prime number.

Distribution of milk was 12, 10,8,6,4,2,0.

A robot is designed to move in a peculiar way and it can be set in motion by a microprocessor program. The program can be initiated by assigning a positive rational value to its variable n. The program directs the robot to move in the following way. As soon as the program is started, the robot starts from the point O, moves 2n metres northward and changes its direction by n° to the right. It then moves 2n metres forward and again changes its direction by n° to the right and continues in this manner till it reaches the starting point O, or till it covers a total distance of 100 m, whichever happens first, and then it stop.
Q: 8. I assigned a value for n and started the program. If the robot finally came back to O and stopped, what is the total distance that it has covered
(1) 180 m
(2) 360 m
(3) 720 m
(4) Cannot be determined

Q: 9 For how many value of n in the intervals [1, 60] does the robot cover less than 1000 m, before it stops?

The simplest way to find the sum of consecutive no.s
For ex. 1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8
Therefore,we should first find the sum of first and last digit.
1+8=9
Then we should multiply it by the half of no.s
That is,
8/2
( because there are 8 no.s)
The sum is
(8+1)×(8/2)
9×4=36

IF it is a exam point of view question i suggest you always go by options bro
if u want explanation here it follows
let one of the parts = x implies another part is 50-x
so given that reciprocals sum is 1/12 so 1/x + 1/50-x == 1/12
solve it and u get value of x ! do the math
so x is 20 another part is 30
verification : 1/20+1/30 = 50/600 = 1/12 ( proved )

if u face difficulty in solving x heres the thing :
1/x+ 1/ (50-x) = 1/12
taking cross multiplication (50-x+x)/ (50x-x^2) = 1/12
==} 50x-x^2 = 12*50
==} 50x-x^2 = 600
==} x^2 -50x + 600 = 0
===} x^2 -20x -30x +600= 0
===} x(x-20) - 30 ( x-20) =0
=====} ( x-30) ( x-20) = 0
=====} x= 30, 20 ! gotcha

The sum of the scores for games 6 through 9 is 68. The average in these four games is 68/4 = 17.

The total points in all ten games is greater than 10*18 = 180. Thus, it must be at least 181.

There are at least 181 - 68 = 113 points in the other six games: games 1-5 and game 10.

Games 1-5 must have an average of less than 17. Thus we cannot put more than 16 + 17 + 17 + 17 + 17 = 84 points in those five games.

Thus, the tenth game must have at least 113 - 84 = 29 points

2/3rd of the balls in a bag are blue, the rest are pink. If 5/9th of the blue balls and 7/8th of the pink balls are defective. Find the number of balls in the bag, if the number of non defective balls is 146?
Reply Like? Yes | No
Karan   8 years ago
Total balls in bag are 432.
288 blue and 144 pink balls.
160 blue balls are defective. 126 pink balls are defective.
out of 146 non defective balls, 128 blue balls and 18 pink balls are non defective.

Devendra Marghade   8 years ago
Ans: 432

Let total number of balls be x, then
Blue balls = 2x/3, Pink balls=x/3
Total defective balls =(5/9) of blue + (7/8) of pink = (5/9)*(2x/3) + (7/8)*(x/3)=143x/216
So non-defective balls=x - 143x/216= 73x/216
A's 73x/216=146, so x=432

If speed of river is x, then
30/(15+x) + 30/(15-x)=9/2
solve it , to get x= 5 mph.. speed of river

See Bro , Say radius of the rupee is R and another coin (C1) is kept touching the center coin (C0).
Compute the angle subtended at the center of C0 by C1:

Join the centers by a line of length 2R
Draw a tangent to C1 from center of C0, touching C1 at T
Now draw the radius in C1 from its center to T
In the resulting right angled triangle, the angle ∠center.1center0.T is clearly 30∘ (simple trigonometry, sin30∘=R/2R ==}} 1/2), thus the angle subtended is 60 degrees, which allows 6 coins to be placed

If a man receives on one-fourth of his capital 3% interest, on two-thirds 5% and on the remainder 11%, the percentage he receives on the whole is
Reply Like? Yes | No (1)
KICK   8 years ago
let the capital of man is "c"
so interest on 1/4th = 1/4*c*3/100
interest on 2/3rd = 2/3*c*5/100
remainder = 1-1/4-2/3= 1/12c interest on remainder = 1/12*c*1/100
so TOtal interest = c*1/4*3/100+c*2/3*5/100+c*1/12*1/100
taking c common you get C (3/4+10/3+1/12)/100
interest on whole is c*rate/100
so rate is 3/4+10/3+1/12 TAKE THE LCM BRO THEN THE RESULT IS (9+40+1)/12 SO 50/12== 4.166

V=u+at
And v=s/t
Therefore u+at=s/t
If we solve it we get
S=ut+at^2(but s=ut+1/2 at^2)
Why?

V=u+at ... Here V is final velocity after time t.
And v=s/t .. Here v is average velocity.

Average velocity = (v+u)/2 = (u+at+u)/2 = u+at/2
s= average velocity *t= (u+at/2)*t = ut+(1/2) at^2
