In the following KenKen puzzle, each cell is to be filled with a digit between 1 and 5. On each row and column, each digit (between 1 and 5) appears exactly once. Groups of heavilyoutlined adjacent cells are called cages. Clues are provided in the top left corner of each cage, in the form of result and (optionally) a result using the specified mathematical operator. Note that more than two cells may be there in a cage only if the operator is “+” or “x”. If no mathematical operator is specified in a cage, the number at the top left corner of the cage is the value to be filled in the cage (the cage will have only one cell). In the following KenKen puzzle, find the values at the cells denoted by x1, x2 and x3 and determine the value of 4x1 ‐ 2x2 + 2x3

I guess this one has no solution
coz if n = (10x + 6)
then s(n) = 10*6 + x = 4(n) = 4(10x + 6)
x = 36/39 = 12/13 not possible should be integer . same for 2 digit no ,3digit no and 4 digit number . I m not getting integer .

Please note that last digit is given as 6.
Multiply it by 4 , we get 24.
It means digit at unit place for new number ( after placing unit digit at front place of original number ) is 4 and hence 4 will be at tens place of original number.
Multiply 4 with 4 , we get 16 and add 2 ( carry from first product) to get 18. So 8 is next digit.
Repeat this process till we get 6 in final number (product).

A man has 1044 candles.after burning,he can make a new candle from 9 stubs left behind.find the maximum number of candles that can made?
Reply Like? Yes | No
Jayantika Trehan   7 years ago
out of 1044 candles we can make 1044/9 i.e. 116 candles.
then out of 116 candles we can make 116/9 i.e 12 candles and 8 stubs left.
now out of 12 candles we can have 12 stubs and 8 above stubs so out of 20 stubs we can make 20/9 i.e. 2 candles. and 2 stubs remaining.
at last we have 2 stubs of above candle and remaining 2 stubs i.e 4 stubs .which cant make a candle.
So total candles=116+12+2=130.

Total age of committee members at that time with new member = 150 years
Total age of committee members at that time with old member = 138 years
Total age of committee members at that time without old member = 138-25=113 years
Age of new member at that time = 150-113=37 years

If two pipes function simultaneously the reservoir is filled in 12hrs.one pipe fills the reservoir 10hrs faster than the other. How many hours does the faster pipe take to fill the reservoir?
Reply Like? Yes | No
Devendra Marghade   7 years ago
20 hours

Let slower pipe takes x hours, then faster pipe takes (x-10) hours.
Part filled in 1 hour=1/x + 1/(x-10) =1/12
=> (2x-10)*12 = x(x-10)
=> x^2 - 34x + 120 = 0
=> (x-4) (x-30) = 0
So x=4 or 30
As faster pipe takes 10 hrs. less than the slower pipe, the value of x must be 30.
Hence faster pipe takes 20 hours.

Let say pulp is a content in fruit without any water.
Remove water% to get pulp percentage.
Fresh Fruit has (100-68)% = 32% of pulp
Dry fruit has (100-20)% = 80% of pulp
100 kg of fresh fruit has 100*32% =32 kg of pulp
Mass of dry fruit = (Pulp percentage in 100 kg of fresh fruit)/(Pulp percentage in dry fruit)
M= 32/(80%)
M = 40 kg.

The average of a list of 6 numbers is 20. If we remove one of the numbers, the average of the remaining numbers is 15. What is the number that was removed?

6*20-5*15=120-75=45

Let me answer this question first in a conventional way.
Sum of all the numbers = 6*20 = 120
Sum after remaining one number = 5*15 =75
So the number to be removed is 120-75 = 45
Ans : 45

Another approach is
After removing one number the average is reduced by 5
And also we are removing one number.
So the number is (Updated average)-(Change in average)*(Number of terms)= 15-(-5)*6 = 45.

A and B are running around a circular track of length 120 meters with speeds 12 m/s and 6 m/s in
the same direction. When will they meet for the first time? Answer
Reply Like? Yes | No
Chivaraman N   7 years ago
Let's assume both A and B start at the same point and same time.
The relative velocity of A with respect to B is 12-6 = 6 m/s.
This indicates for every second, A will be ahead of B by 6 metres.
So to meet B again, A has to cover a distance of 120 m (length of the track).
Time taken = 120/6 = 20 seconds

Ans: 20 Seconds.
