let no. be x and another no. is 10-x
so x-(10-x)=4
x-10+x=4
2x-10 = 4
x = 7
so no, are 7 and 3
ans = 49-9 = 40

case 1: when men sit at first third and fifth number chair and women sits on rest of the chairs men can sit by 3! ways and women can also sit in 3! ways so number of ways in this case is 3!*3!=36

case 2: here women sits on first third and fifth ,men sit on rest of the chairs
here also number of ways =3!*3!=36

total number of ways =36+36=72

There will be two cases...for each case
When men at 1st,3rd,5th chair...
there are 3*2*1=6 possible ways
Similarly for woman there are 6 ways
total = 6*6=36 cases

case2: when women sit at 1st,3rd,5th chair
36 cases

total =36+36=72

If KMNOQ is 7- 5 - 4 - 3 - 1 and DEFIJ is 4-5-6-9-8 and RSWYZ is 2-3-7-9-8 then AGVXH is
(a) 1 - 7 - 6- 8 - 8

(d) 7 - 8 - 4 - 5 - 3

(a) KMNOQ is 7,5,4,3,1 Starts from K :7 (L :6) M :5 N :4 O :3 (P :2) Q :1 Now: DEFIJ is 4,5,6,9,8....From above 2 relations we can conclude that A-Z can be numbered from 1-9 in ascending and descending order ie,as below
[A : 1] [B:2] [C:3] [D:4] [E:5] [F:6] [G:7] [H:8] [I:9] / [J:8] [K:7] [L:6] [M:5] [N:4] [O:3] [P:2] [Q:1] /[R:2] [S:3] [T:4] [U:5] [V:6] [W:7] [X:8] [Y:9] /[Z:8].....hence AGVXH is 1-7-6-8-8

Ans is A 11,5
Given 28 25 5 21 18 5 14 ? ?
After every 2 numbers "5" comes The above series is like the same as[(28,25),5,(21,18),5,(14,X),Y]..so Y =5..Now the series is
28,25,5,21,18,5,14,X,5...Now the difference among the numbers in b/w two "5's" is 3 [28,25 difference=3]..[21,18 differnce=3]..s0 [14,X difference=3] so X=11
28 25 5 21 18 5 14 11 5

A and B together can do a piece of work in 30 days,. A having worked for 16 days, B finishes the remaining work alone in 44 days. In how many days shall B finish the work alone ?

Needs a complete solution to this question please help me guys

Devendra Marghade   11 years ago
60 days
If alone, A & B can complete the work in 'A' & 'B' days respectively, then (1/A)+(1/B)=1/30 ---(i)
A's 16 days work=16/A, So remaining work=1-(16/A)=(A-16)/A
As remaining work is B's 44 days work, So B's 1 day work
=(A-16)/A/44=(A-16)/44A =1/B ---(ii)
From (i),(1/A)=(1/30)-(1/B), A=30B/(B-30), put this value of A in (ii),we get, (1/B)=[30B/(B-30)]-16 /[44*(30B)/(B-30)]
On solving, B=60

Q. A circle has two parallel chords of lengths 6 cm and 8 cm. If the chord are 1 cm apart and the chord is on the same side of the centre, then find the diameter of the circle .
Like? Yes | No
Reply

Devendra Marghade   11 years ago
10 cm.
If the radius of a circle=r &
length of the perpendicular from the center to the chord of 8 cm =x
As this perpendicular will divide the chord in two equal parts, then r^2=x^2+4^2 ---(i)
Similarly perpendicular from center to the chord of 6 cm. will divide it in two equal parts, so
r^2=(x+1)^2+3^2 ---(ii)
On equating and solving (i) & (ii),x=3, r=5, So diameter=10 cm.

There are two tribes in Mars, Lie tribe and Truth Tribe.

Lie tribe always speaks lie, True tribe always speaks truth.

You meet three mars people and ask

From First Person: What tribe you belong to?, he replies something in his language which you don’t understand.

Second person tells that he is saying that he belongs to Lie Tribe.

Third person says that second person is lying.
