1.In the polynomial f(x) = x^5 + a*x^3 + b*x^4 +c*x + d, all coefficients a, b, c, d are integers. If 3 + sqrt(7) is a root, which of the following must be also a root?(Note that x^n denotes the x raised to the power n, or x multiplied by itself n times. Also sqrt(u) denotes the square root of u, or the number which when multiplied by itself, gives the number u)?
a. 3-sqrt(7)
b. 3+sqrt(21)
c. 5
d. sqrt(7) + sqrt(3)

2.We have an equal arms two pan balance and need to weigh objects with integral weights in the range 1 to 40 kilo grams. We have a set of standard weights and can place the weights in any pan. . (i.e) some weights can be in a pan with objects and some weights can be in the other pan. The minimum number of standard weights required is:
a. 4
b. 10
c. 5
d. 6

What is the remainder when the minimum feasible number of chocolates in the bag is divided by 9?
a. 2
b. 5
c. 4
d. 6

ANS : c) 2.5
20 lit juice contain 20*10/100 =2 lit tomato pulp.
now tomato pure has 80% of tomato pulp..
so by using 2 lit pure pulp we can produce
2/80% =2*100/80 = 2.5 liters..

20 ltr of juice=2 ltr of tomato pulp(10%)
in tomato puree 80% is pulp
so from 0.8 lts pulp we can make 1 ltr or puree
from 1.6 =2 ltr
from another 0.4=0.5 ltr
so in total 2.5ltr

A bag contains 2 yellow, 3 green and 2 blue balls. Two balls are drawn at random. What is the probability that none of the balls drawn is blue?
Reply Like? Yes (7) | No (2)
Gitanjali K   11 years ago
total number of balls = (2+3+2) = 7

n(S) = no. of ways of drawing 2 balls out of 7
= 7C2 `
=(7 x 6)/(2 x 1)
=21
(as E=drawing 2 balls, none of which is blue.)
n(E) =no. of ways of drawing 2 balls out of 5 balls
=5C2
=(5 x 4)/(2 x 1)
=10
so, P(E) =n(E)/n(S)
=10/21

Ram   11 years ago
probability that none of the balls drawn is blue
=1-probability that drawn 2 balls is blue-probability that drawn 1 ball is blue and other is any ball
=1-(2C2/7C2)-(2C1*5C1/7C2)
=1-(1/21)-(10/21)
=10/21
or
probability that none of the balls drawn is blue
=5C2/7C2 (total balls other than blue=5)
=10/21

3 day work= (1/6 +1/7 +1/8)=73/168 work
In next 3 days another 73/168 work will be done.
Remaining work= 1-(2×73/168)=22/168= 11/84
11/84 work will done by Anant in 11/12 days

Reply Like? Yes | No

The answer in ratio between two varities of wheat is 4:10.
that is 4 kgs of wheat costing 24/kg has to be mixed with 10 kgs of wheat costing 18.4/kg...so that the total price will be 280...that is for 14 kgs...therefore 20/kg is the price & 15% profit means 23/kg...

A coin is too much weight & so as to reduce the weight the diameter of coin is reduced to 15% &
thickness is reduced to 10%, then the weight of new coin in percentage?
Reply Like? Yes | No
vinoth   11 years ago
Let us assume that the radius(2*diameter) r be 10, the height h be 10...
the volume of cylinder is 3.24*r*h...
the volume will be 3141...
if we reduce the diameter by 15%..the the new radius be 8.5 & if we reduce the height by 10% means the new height will be 9...now the new volume is 2042... to find it in percentage, we have to divide new volume by old one & multiply by 100....therefore the percentage will be 65%...
Like? Yes | No
Devendra Marghade   11 years ago
65.025%
If original radius=r & thickness=h ,then
Weight of the coin will be equivalent to its Volume
If Weight of the old coin=Pi*r^2*h ,then
Weight of the new coin=Pi*(0.85r)^2*0.9h
Weight of new coin in percentage=100*[Pi*(0.85r)^2*0.9h]/[Pi*r^2*h]=65.025

answer is 02
as 3921=4n+1 so 1^1 is 1 for the first on i.e 1021^3921
for next part also its same 3921=4n+1
1^1 is 1
so total is 1+1=2 hence answer is 02

In a joint business, the capital of A, B and C were Rs. 45000, Rs. 30000 and Rs. 22500 respectively. A withdrew half of his capital after 4 months. After 9 months of this withdrawal, there was a total profit of Rs. 28400. Find the each share of profit.

Rs. 10200, 10400 & 7800

Ratio of Investment of A:B:C=[45000*4 + (45000/2)*9] : [30000*13] : [22500*13]
=3825 : 3900 : 2925= 153 : 156 : 117
Share of A,B & C in the Profit of Rs. 28400= [153*28400/426] , [156*28400/426] & [117*28400/426]
= 10200 ,10400 & 7800 Rs.

if u divide the student in two group 10 (avg 80) & 15 (avg 60)
there ratio will be 2:3
so ,average of them will be 68

A clock shows 3:00. What time is it after the hour hand rotates 135 degrees? I need complete solution? pls help me
Reply Like? Yes | No
madanpal vishwakarma    11 years ago
the required time is 7:12 because to move 130 degree it require to move up to 7 and then for 5 degree it need to movie 5 degree which is equal to move 12 minute sot ime is 7:12 after moving 135degree of hour hand
Like? Yes | No
B. Mahesh    11 years ago
7:30,hr hand rotates from 3 to 6 such that 90 degrees,i.e.,3 hrs,remaining 45 degrees is 1:30hrs
Like? Yes (1) | No
mohan bylapudi   11 years ago
for every hour hour hand moves 30 degrees =>135/30=4+15/30=>1hr=30degree=>1/2hr=15degree. Therefore 3+4+1/2hr=7:30hr
Like? Yes | No
Nikhil Awasthi   11 years ago
yes its 7:30 in order to move 135* we move hour hand 90 degree as it reaches 6:00 and then we know each partition in clock is of 30* so we again move hour clock one hour as 90+30= 120* as 7 o clock. . to move rest 15* we move hour hand half partition as 15* which completes 135 * ans clock is now showing 7:30
