If 1/a + 1/b + 1/c = 1/(a+b+c) where a + b + c != 0 , abc != 0, what is the value of (a+b)(b+c)(c+a)?
Reply Like? Yes (1) | No
Ankit Pandey   11 years ago
On multiplying with abc in both sides we get
bc+ca+ab=abc/(a+b+c)
On further solving we get,
2abc+a²b+ab²+b²c+bc²+ca²+c²a=0
(abc+ac²+b²c+bc²)+(a²b+a²c+ab²+abc)=0
c(ab+ac+b²+bc)+a(ab+ac+b²+bc)=0
(c+a)(ab+ac+b²+bc)=0
(c+a){a(b+c)+b(b+c)}=0
(c+a)(b+c)(a+b)=0
So Answer is ZERO

Anand, Babu, Charlie, Dhanush, and Eesha recently found out that all of their birthdays were on the same day, Though they were born in different years ,On their birthday, they were chatting about their ages
- Dhanush said to Babu “I am nine years older than Eesha”
- Eesha said to Babu “I am seven years older than Anand”
- Babu said to Charlie “Eesha is younger than you”
- Anand Said to Babu “ Your age is exactly 70% greater than my age”
- Charlie said to Dhanush “The difference between our ages is six years”
- Charlie said to Anand “I am ten years older than you”
- Charlie said to Anand “Babu is younger than Dhanush”
- Babu said to Charlie “The difference between your age and Dhanush’s is the same as the difference between Dhanush’s and Eesha’s” They were not telling the truth, When each one of them spoke to someone older, everything they said was true,But, when speaking to someone younger, everything they said was false. How old was Eesha?

A=P(1+{r/2}/100)^(2n) where n is no. Of years
So
A=1600(1+{5/200})²+1600(1+{5/200})¹
A=1600×(41/40)²+1600×(41/40)
A=1600×{41/40}{1+(41/40)}
A=332Inter
So
Gain or Interest= 3321-3200
= 121 Rs.

Let the numbers be 3x, 4x and 5x.

Then, their L.C.M. = 60x.

So, 60x = 2400 or x = 40.

The numbers are (3 x 40), (4 x 40) and (5 x 40).

Hence, required H.C.F. = 40.

Rajiv can do a piece of work in 10 days , Venky in 12 days and Ravi in 15 days. They all start the work together, but Rajiv leaves after 2 days and Venky leaves 3 days before the work is completed. In how many days is the work completed ?
Reply Like? Yes | No
GUL KAUR   11 years ago
this question actually says that all will start the work together
if they will wok together work get completed in 4 days as LCM OF(10,12,15)/((LCM OF(10,12,15)/10)+(LCM OF(10,12,15)/12)+(LCM OF(10,12,15)/15)) this will give the no. of days needed to complete the task.
but rajiv will leave after 2 days
so the other 2 days work will be done by venky and ravi which will be (1/2)of work
but venky will also leave before 3 days of work completion
so for last three days ravi will work alone
now calculate work done by ravi in 3 days
if in 15 days 1 work is completed
in 1 day 1/15 work is completed
and in 3 days 1/5 work is completed
as 1/2 work is lef and 1/5 will be done by ravi
so 1/2-1/5 = 3/10 of work will be done by both venky and ravi
1 work is completed in 10 days by both as(LCM(12,15)/SUM OF RATIO i.e (4+5) will give the no. of days of work completion)
3/10 of work will be completed in 3/10*10=3 days
so the work will be completed in 8 days.

Any program residing in the memory contains a set of instructions that need to be executed by the computer in a sequential manner. This cycle for every instruction is known as the instruction cycle. The cycle consists of the following steps which may or may not be the proper sequence of the execution.
1. Fetch the operand from the memory
2. Execution
3. Fetch instruction

d. 18

ANSWER:9
EXPLANATION:Trail and error
if we assume the least values for m,n are 1,-1.Then f(m,n)=(45*1)+(36*-1)=9
if we assume the least values for m,n are 2,-2.Then f(m,n)=(45*2)+(36*-2)=18.
therefore 9 is the least value of f(m,n)....

both are similar,
speed * time = distance ( here speed can be called as distance rate )
and
work rate * time = work

so in work problem try to make the work rate in percentage then it will be easy
e.g, if a can do work in 5 days
so the work rate in percentage will be 100/5 = 20% , use it as 20 in the above equation
and then the work on the right side will be 100

what would be the lowest 3 digit numbre divisible by 6,8 & 12
Reply Like? Yes | No
sumit patidar   11 years ago
As we know that the lowest digit is divisible by 6,8,12 is 24. So we will find the number divisible by 24. So we will find the minimum 3 digit number.

Omkar   11 years ago
lcm of 6,8,12=48
then divide 100 by 48
then reminder you will get 4, then subtract 4 from 48 and add to 100
ans will be 144

7. Minakshi deposited a sum of Rs 8000 in a bank. After one year she withdraws Rs 2000. At the end
of 3yrs. She received Rs 7800. Find the rate?
Reply Like? Yes | No
hemant jain   11 years ago
amount after one year/withdrawing 2000=8000+(8000xRx1/100)-2000=6000+80R
this amount will be the present value after one year.so now amount after 2 years will be=(6000+80R)+{(6000+80R)xRx2/100}=7800
6000+80R+{120R+1.60R^2)=7800
1.6R^2+200R-1800=0
R^2+125R+1125=0

A can complete a project in 20 days while B can complete same project in 30 days. If A and B start working together and A leaves the work 10 days before completion of project, then in how many days the project will be completed?
Reply Like? Yes (2) | No
Inline Geek   11 years ago
in one day A completes 1/20th of work, and B completes 1/30th of work. if both works together then work completed in one day will be =
1/20 + 1/30 = 1/12

that means it will take 12 days to complete the work when working together.
but A leave 10 days before actual completion of work that means after A leaves, B has to work 10 more days to complete the work means i.e. 1/3rd of the work.
that means 2/3rd of work is done by both together so number of days:

= no. of days (A & B) + no of days( B alone)
= 12 * (2/3) + 10 = 18 days

there are 2 bottles each having 13.5 litres of pure milk(bottle A) and water (bottle B) respectively.4.5 littres of milk are poured from bottle A to bottle B. then ,4.5 litres of the mixture in bottle B arepoured into bottle A. in the resultant mixture whose concentration is more. Milk in bottle A or Water in Bottle B.

Inline Geek   11 years ago
A (13.5 M : 0W) B (0M : 13.5W)
when 4.5 ltr milk poured from A to B:
A (9 M : 0W) B (4.5M : 13.5W)

again 4.5 ltr poured from B to A :

A (9 + 1.125 M : 3.375W) B (3.375M : 10.125W)
in A, milk concentration is 10.125, and in B water is 10.125. so concentration of both are same.

my query is i have hardy 3 days left for tcs drive ... suggest me some easy ways to solve the ques ...and how much ques should i attempt and answer correctly?

BHASKAR MANDAL   11 years ago
welcome kanika.....first take a practice test from previous papers of tcs, then solve it by yourself in 1hour. then see the solution and check any shortcut methods are there.
from my opinion if you can do more than 22 correctly then you can definitely crack it.
if you practice the papers it is sufficient. you can refer the book of quantitative aptitude by arun sharma (for shortcuts for various chapters .
